helping means you never expect something in return :kissing_heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart:

Hi Gina,

Thank you so much for your answer.:rose:
Yes, in normal world it is true.
Very important aspect is a mentality of people..
I met people from the Sweden, U.S., Switzerland, Italy, Romania, Albanian who are thinking in that way..
In Poland almost always helping means that you have to give something in return.

It's near impossible, to help anyone
long distance find a job.

Locally, helping someone find a job,
is often dependent upon education,
experience, willingness to work, and
the ability to start work in a timely
manner.

To find potential jobs in the U.S.,
get on a computer, and type your search
words (name of city and state) employment
office .

The state employment office sites,
generally give clear instructions on how
to navigate the sites

You may have to create an account, to be
able to view the job listings.

Hi Rock Gnome,

Thank you so much for your advice.
:rose:
I will try.
This few answers to build in me feeling that I have always have a choice no matter what, and I have again to try to do it on my way and myself.

Thank you so much!

Sometimes it is better to find a job yourself than to get help from an untrained person.
By 'untrained' I mean trained in helping other people find the right job for them.
If you seek help from just anyone, you are more likely to get help getting the jobs they like than one you like and fits you.

Like Rock said, your computer is your friend when job hunting.

Many well-established job resource websites offer tips to find the right job for you. They 'suggest' certain things you can do to give you a better chance at finding the right job.

Some can teach you how to write cover letters and resumes, what to wear, what questions you should ask at interviews and how to 'weigh' prospects.

The 10 Best Job Search Websites of 2021

Best Overall: Indeed
Runner-Up, Best Overall: Monster
Best for Employer Research: Glassdoor
Best for Remote Jobs: FlexJobs
Best for Experienced Managers: Ladders
Best for Startup Jobs: AngelList
Best for Connecting Directly With Recruiters: LinkedIn
Best for Up-to-Date Listings: Getwork
Best for Recent College Graduates: Scouted
Best for Hourly Workers: Snagajob

One example of "Help" is at Indeed's Career Advice page.
http://www.indeed.com/career-advice/finding-a-job/the-essential-job-search-guide
This is help with no ultimatums attached and no gratitude expected.
Its there to help you find the job right for you.

The information is not country specific. It applies to the task at hand.

You can also find info on writing cover letters and resumes. You can even find resume outlines which asks you to fill in the sections with your own data.
http://www.indeed.com/career-advice/resumes-cover-letters/how-to-write-a-cover-letter

You don't need to be or feel indebted to a person to find a good job right for you. It takes research and determination but it can certainly be done by yourself.

Once you have a great plan, put it in action and go contact some companies and get that resume out there. Just remember, its okay to brag about yourself, you are selling your expertise and experience. There is no place for self-criticism in a resume or cover letter and unless specifically asked, not during interviews either.

May your efforts be fruitful.

If all efforts are in vain, you might consider starting your own business.
There are websites which can offer you advice and 'help' doing that as well.

Your country, province or locality may even offer incentives to small business start-up. I know there are incentives and assistance plans in the states which help guide and sometimes offer grants and secured loans to start-up small businesses.
But hey, that's another topic for discussion.

If someone would like to help but only on their terms is it still help ???

Your question is subjective . Perhaps you can give a specific example of the type of help offered . .

There are many ways to approach help but clear honest communication is always important . There is no guarantee that helpful Intentions will meet your expectations or assumptions . Only you can decide if the consequence of accepting help different to what you asked for is appropriate and safe.

Hi Blondey111,

Thank you so much for your advice.:rose:
Now, I'm pretty sure, that only I can decide if the consequences are appropriate and safe.
What important not always, we have to agree on the terms only because someone would like to help.

What's happened to me, that I feeling I need an advice to be sure that my way of thinking is correct.
I realize that each of situation is different and specific.

I asked someone about information, that if it will be any opportunity to take a job, I will grateful for contact.
I received proposition a job in the kitchen for an almost a half of lowest wage in the Poland.
For that, this person demanded a cleaning the 70sqm apartment for free, for 2 months.
People here are thinking that because they are helping I'm obligate to do everything what they demand, only because I ask or need this. Very often they didn't accept the words "no, thank you so much", only because I asked about it, they didn't accept that I have to right to thank them very polite.
Even if I explain what was the reason of my decision, they still didn't accept how I can refuse..

It is only one example, but the mentality of people is very often the same here.
I know, that I have always a right of choice, no matter what is going on.
I'm feeling that my point of view, and way of thinking is correct.
If I may to ask, am I right, that always are a boundaries which we have to respect and it should be working in two ways?

I met so many people in Poland, who didn't respect it in different situations, not always it is connected with helping, that's why I decided to post my question.

thanks for your explanation Nicole . One of the dangers of asking for help from strangers is that you need to establish trust , which can be difficult when dealing with someone from another country or online . I have read articles were people have been offered help only to find themselves trapped in dreadfully unsafe situations . There will always be those who will try to take advantage or have hidden agendas . Never accept help which may put you at risk or in a less than favourable situation. You are under no obligation to accept offers of help. No always means no . Online do not waste your time with people who do not respect your decisions . It is a big red flag . Block their access to you and keep up with your endeavours .

Hi Blondey111,

Thanks to you, I'm sure that if I have feeling that I have to say "no thank you" always "no" means "no".
For all this time I was very independent, and now I have to learn many things. Thank you so much, for your advice. :rose:
These words are very important to me, I will never accept help which may put me at risk, nothing is worth of this risk..

Helping for me coincides with Giving, its an act of extending something to the Needy, the needy receives it,the giver forgets it,telling himself he gave what the receiver needs.its up to the receiver if he will be grateful and say Thanks and use what was given. The giver on the other hand saw the need so he gives...it is helping if u dont expect in return.

I would like to find a place, where I could progress my professional skills and personal values.

Since the thread topic is about 'helping' it is part of this discussion if the reply is intended as help.

Personal Values
Personal values are the things in life which are important to you.
The place to progress is in your own head.
Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to focus on something as complex as this so I found the best method to sort it all out is with a pencil and note pad.

You sit down someplace comfortable with no distractions (turn off TV Radio & phones.
You write down a list of everything important to you right now. The order of importance is not important when writing the list.
Its okay if there are duplicates.
Its okay if there is a lot of things listed.
How you spell it or write it is not important as long as you know what it means.
Once you are satisfied, set it aside and start a new but different list.

On the new list make three sections.
Always Important, Often Important, Sometimes Important.
Use the first list to sort the second list.
Look at each thing you wrote on the first list and rewrite it in the section it most applies.
Once you have the second list filled out.
Take a hard look at how you have it sorted.
Move things around till they all really fit where you have them.
Keep a copy of this 2nd list.

From time to time pull it out and have another look and see if anything has changed. You might find some things which are important to you were not listed and some of the things you listed may no longer be important to you.

This process is called assessing and reassessing your personal values. Many people do this in their heads day after day. Once you 'see' your values laid out in front of you and get your head thinking about them you too may do this in your head.

You should remember that personal values can change according to what you are doing, who you are with and the conditions of life you are currently experiencing. These changing values are as important as the constant values because they can lead you to success or ruin depending on how you act.

Professional Skills
Professional skill is the methodology needed to master something. Not only the things you do but how you do them.
Skill is a combination of knowledge and experience.
To develop a skill you must first find a place to gain knowledge about it then you must find a place to acquire experience using that knowledge.

You can find knowledge on any subject on the internet/web. It helps understanding the skill you are trying to develop. While this 'general understanding' is important, employers look for accredited education in your career history. These are documented proof you have been educated in the areas which apply to that skill.

At the end of my career as a truck mechanic I had 4 pages of accredited education including one degree and 3 specialized degrees.

But...Knowledge is not the only component to a skill. You need registered work history performing skill related jobs.

I was fortunate enough to have mechanic related jobs my entire career. I did 'other' jobs too but those 'other' jobs did not build my skill specifically. What they did do was establish a work ethic. Later in life, I listed those 'other' jobs and included the skill related tasks I performed while doing them.

For skill development, it is important to work in jobs which are known for that skill.
While working those jobs, it is important to build a dependable work ethic which your employer will reward later with a good reference.
Positive references on an application can make or break your hiring chances.

While working in your skill, find opportunities to document your skills in writing. You do this by attending seminars, taking tests to become certified and volunteering to teach tradesmen.
Keep any letters of accommodations from customers or employers too. Get yourself a folder or notebook binder and keep any and all related documents.

The first step tho is to actually know which skill you want to develop.
Take a look at your personal values list and compare it to career descriptions. Find a career which allows you to experience your personal values naturally.
Once you know which career to choose, look at the job descriptions within that career to determine which skills you wish to develop first.

At first, you may want to choose jobs which equally build all career skills then using this as personal feedback, choose a specialty. Or...you can focus on a specialty and master that then later in life expand you skills to other areas.

The website for the Occupational Outlook Handbook lists career groups. You can then click on one to see what is involved.
http://www.bls.gov/ooh/
It also has a USA sort based on different criteria which can suggest occupations(careers) which meet those criteria.

Granted, it is a US government website but the information is relevant to your searching needs for information about a career.
Your own country may offer a similar website?

The important thing to remember is you must first sort your personal values before you can choose a skill right for you.

During my career I met many people who chose poorly and they were very unhappy in life.
I chose wisely and enjoyed a happy, fruitful career.

May you find inner clarity!

Hi Tom4Uhere,

I really appreciate your time, support and advices, I really do.

Thank you so much, I will prepare these lists, I see now how important it is for myself. I realized, it can help me to arrange and organize my life from the beginning.
Unfortunately, here doesn't exist Polish government website where I could to match my skills to the jobs position or any three party sites.

Only websites where you can apply with jobs position from different occupation.

What I realized, after all my 27 years of proffesional life, is that I would like to find a job position in another country not in the Poland, and it will be great if I will find a job with a accommodation.

Thank you so much Tom.
I wish you beautiful and wonderful Christmas :christmas_tree:

Helping doesn't need any mean for Doing it. It should be done from heart without focused showcase..
but helping right way an right person is to be noticed..Not every needy is really in need..
In short help in such a way that activities performed by right hand should not be known to left hand.

Depends on the situation.
aI have helped family members in the past with nothing expected from them what so ever
then at times I did expect something in return. These times it was younger relatives who lost their way a bit and the help came with requirements
