The trucker’s freedom convoy is for, and about, truckers. They are protesting covid19 vaccination requirement or face 2 week at home quarantine when returning across the border. To me, it seems they care about how non-vaccinated truckers may lose downtime due to quarantining, but they don’t seem to care much about the effect their convoy is having on other’s welfare.

Since the initial start of the freedom convoy others have joined in protesting all Covid19 mandates.

It seems to be a disheveled mess.

Not as disheveled as the plan Biden and the CDC has of eradicating the virus. The Truckers are 90% vaccinated so not many are effected by the quarantine. There is a common chord as to why truckers all over the world are bonded together in this protest . It’s called individual freedom for all humans to choose what is best for you. We should appreciate anybody that’s pushes back on government over reach. We have to keep them in check from time to time just so they know they work to serve us.

Sure. It's about the individual freedom to screw up the economy, blocking $60 million of commerce each day, costing thousands of workers on either side of the border their pay from work lost. Yay. Freedom. Those jerks weren't about personal freedom. Just political terrorism.

I’m certainly not against an individual’s right to choose, but I also don’t think asking them to quarantine after returning from another country if unvaccinated is unreasonable.

but there are making it mandatory here Crystal. Just yesterday NYC fired 1,400 workers for not beinging vaccinated. Cops, firemen and teachers. They lost their jobs..livelihood...and that is just plain wrong
One of my sisters is a nurse in a state run nursing home. last year she worked everyday thru the virus on the covid wing ( when there was no vaccine) . she got covid. rode it out and then went right back to work caring for her elderly patients. ( many of them died)
those nurses were called heros then
this year?.. they told her ( and everyone else) get the vaccine or you are fired.. no more hero.. She didn't want the vaccine but was forced to get it because she has a family. bills..a house.
From hero to zero in 1 year
not right. just not

Funny (not so much) that biden felt the need to call trudeau about getting tough on the truckers when he's doing such a lousy job and knows nothing about being tough! Also, it should tell the citizens of this country even more about the thinking of this president against it's own citizens.

YES I stand with the Canadian truckers and everybody that stands up against these mandates and lockdowns. No citizen should be forced by their government to take anything against their will or beliefs.

I've had my vaccinations, by choice...not by force!

Yeah, it's truly sad!
I'm not entirely certain of the current situation here as I follow it as little as possible. Occasionally I read up on things or come across some news.
I consider myself lucky as I don't work, which is because of a very unfortunate health issue after an accident, but in this case it works in my favour as I have no pressure from a work situation.
Now if government would stay, vaccinate or no more benefit, I'd be in serious chit.
But... my son is a chef in a restaurant, restaurants have only recently re-opened and... for vaxxers only. My son works there and he is NOT vaccinated! Go figure. Making food for vaxxers hahaha. And he got a contract the other day and promoted from cook to chef. So not everyone fusses.

I have heard nurses refusing to get it, but again, not certain how dire the situation is here.

I actually DO think that is very unreasonable. Unless they've been to an area with loads of Covid but I doubt these exist anymore.
It's insanity to put someone in storage for two weeks when they're perfectly healthy.
Certainly considering this virus is not all that deadly. It's not like Ebola is out.
It's understandable that at first everyone panicked and went overboard with rules and restrictions. But by now we know better. Plus, loads of people got that crap injected which they say works.

Unvaccinated truckers should have some accountability, especially given their health status is not known, they’re crossing borders and around others. I agree 14 day quarantine is antiquated, but right now the choice is vax or quarantine. A negative Covid test should be an option also.

To understand Trudeau's stance against the truckers and refusal to even listen to their grievances one just has to listen to who he admires.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqnmfNiaM-Y

Trudeau was asked which country he most admires and his answer "There’s a level of admiration I actually have for China. Because their basic dictatorship is allowing them to actually turn their economy around on a dime and say we need to go greenest fastest; we need to start investing in solar. I mean there is a flexibility that I know Stephen Harper must dream about of having a dictatorship that he could do everything he wanted."

Then to get an even better you look at who Trudeau admires look at the official response to response to Fidel Castro's death.

https://pm.gc.ca/en/news/statements/2016/11/26/statement-prime-minister-canada-death-former-cuban-president-fidel

Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on the death of former Cuban President Fidel Castro

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the death of former Cuban President Fidel Castro:

“It is with deep sorrow that I learned today of the death of Cuba’s longest serving President.

“Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation.

“While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for “el Comandante”.

“I know my father was very proud to call him a friend and I had the opportunity to meet Fidel when my father passed away. It was also a real honour to meet his three sons and his brother President Raúl Castro during my recent visit to Cuba.

“On behalf of all Canadians, Sophie and I offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and many, many supporters of Mr. Castro. We join the people of Cuba today in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader.”

--------------

And this clown who admires dictators claims truckers are a threat to democracy? Is it any wonder Trudeau invoked the "Emergencies Act", which is basically martial law, for the first time in Canada’s history giving himself the authority to seize bank accounts and imprison who he deems to be an enemy of Canada......including ANY Canadian citizen.

The vaccines are not keeping people from getting covid, or spreading covid, it is just making some people have less symptoms, some don't even know they have covid while they are out spreading it. So what is the purpose of quarantining people just based on the fact they are not vaccinated? Either everybody should be requested to test or quarantine to cross the boarder, or no body should be required to, has nothing to do with the vaccine besides the government controlling the people.

Truckers were exempt prior to 1/22, they just required the same of them as other travelers crossing borders at that time. I just saw where Canada has issued updated protocols. Hopefully, things are beginning to move in the right direction.

Trudeau is a vassal to Biden and Biden is a joke.
There is no need for any restrictions any more.
In Scandinavia we have lifted them and the rate of infections did not go up. Old week people still are dying, but if someone finds out a cure for death they surely will get the Nobel prize.
It is no longer a matter of stemming the virus, it's about controlling people. I don't know if Canada has any amendments other then the right to carry a snow shovel, but surely it can't be illegal to park your car and go see a movie or something. If the parking space is badly chosen it's up to the local community to remove the vehicle and post a fine. Surely you can find a cheap junker car you want to get rid of right away to park in a bad spot and with leaking tires. LOL. I recommend not staying close to the vehicle since you might be shot or beaten by hooligans in helmets though. Bring a bike in the trunk. It's a rough neighborhood!
Ps. Don't forget, not to file the vehicle title at DMW.

There is no dial for setting the economy. A good economy is brought on by sound judgment and wise decisions. The previous administration knew that and was very good at it. The current administration wishes there was a dial to set to replace their lack of sound judgement and wise decisions. …High gas prices, increased prices on groceries and goods, if you can find it on the empty shelves. Increasing crime, thefts, violence, mass firings for not following a tyrannical law. High inflation . ALL these factors equal a bad economy brought on by Joes ineptness.

The people who were in the protest were from many different groups, causing problems for everyone, and getting funding from foreign countries. I was harassed by some of the protesters to "take off your F---ing mask, because covid is not real", . There are many people who were harassed, and assaulted, by protesters that have absolutely no connection to the truckers protest, there were even truckers who realized that, and wanted to leave but were trapped, because the other truckers would not let them out.

To protest is allowed in Canada, but when it directly affects the local people who live in the area, and those people have to get a court ruling for the truckers to stop blowing their horns, shooting off fireworks and continuously performing acts of harassment and assault, then the protest needed to be stopped.

The best way to protest is by voting, not by holding the rest of the population hostage, until the protesters get what they want.

The police forces removed the protesters in the best way possible, without any serious harm, or shootings, regardless of the way that the American media reported how events took place.

I'm glad to live in a country that is actually peaceful, without all of the guns.

I have no idea how the truckers acted when the cameras weren’t around. I’m sure it was very frustrating for folks who lived nearby or had business in that area, but to keep people from their money , to lock people up for supporting the movement is very extreme and comparable to actions taken by hitler or Putin. I thought Canada was a Democrats State. Those kind of actions would not be tolerated here in the US. So I hope Joe thinks long and hard about how he will deal with the truckers here in a week or so.

There aren't any people locked up for supporting the movement, out of all those who were arrested, there are three who are being held as the organizers, and beneficiaries from the funding of foreign countries to promote the illegal truck blockades.

The participants of the illegal truck blockades, are going to have to pay for some of the $30+million, it costed to remove the protesters.

The American media, seems to of forgotten all of the counter-protesters.

The people who were traumatized because of the protest, are only now beginning to return to a peaceful life again.

People didn't live nearby, they lived inside of the protest zone, but the protesters didn't care.

So far the protesters have re-grouped in other areas, but far away from residential zones this time, they can do all the stuff they did as before, and as long as they leave the rest of the population alone, it's ok by me.
