I hope Elon’s offer of 42 billion dollars to buy Twitter is accepted. It may be a giant step to protect free speech when the liberal elites are trying to stomp it out. Listen to the medias bias charge of free speech as dangerous to our democracy . Their reasoning is as ridiculous as their beliefs.

When you're overly obnoxious and rude you deserve to be "stomped out".

And the SEC and the DOJ are already on him about that. Isn't it fun to watch them squirm over this? Twitter was in the dumper, until censorship started taking over. A small percentage of lefties that are active on this platform got offended over Trump & Co. speaking their minds. How dare they do that!

Musk is being smart about this. He didn't take a position on the board. By not doing that, he could dump his stock, and drive Twitter stock value into the ground. He then can't be held responsible. Only the board can be held responsible for the value of the company. He is using the laws put in place by dems, that were put in place to protect shareholders. Yeah, it's dirty, but then, So is censorship.

That is interesting.

If the democratic agenda stayed out of peoples business,
and the republican agenda stayed out of the government,
then all would thrive better.

Lol. So your opinion is disagreement is obnoxious and rude. This is why democrats polls are in the pits. Well if that’s the reasoning liberal loons use than I’ll take it as the reason America will be stomping out the Democratic Party in November.

How on earth is disagreement rude?

Isn’t that what makes the world interesting? If I was only interested in people like me, I wouldn’t even need other people I would only need myself. different opinions expands ones worldview beyond one’s own perspective.

Why compare oneself to other people when one can compare oneself with God?

I agree. It's obnoxious and rude to NOT allow people with a different political view to post an article but to allow ANY article that aligns with your political views to be posted.

When Facebook or Twitter say it's the fault of an "algorithm" and not political bias when conservatives posts are flagged or deleted it's intellectually insulting. When an "algorithm' is written by people with leftist views who equate words with physical violence is it any wonder that they are biased in their creation? Stopping violence, even the imagined violence that words have is justification for censorship at the social media giants.

But today it's not just conservatives who are targeted, even liberals who are slightly left of center who are targeted.

It's not only rude and obnoxious to say free speech is a threat to democracy, it's intellectually dishonest. A large portion of the MSM has been saying that allowing free speech on Twitter is such a threat. It seems that the meaning of democracy is being changed by people on the left to align with their agenda the same way they changed the meaning of liberal.

personally, I like the Idea of him convincing other stock holders to join him, in a hostile take over of twitter using their combined controlling interest in twitter they all ready own.
to me that would be JUSTICE for the silenced.

Musk doesn't "own" Twitter yet.....Twitter’s board has accepted Musk's offer but that doesn't complete the sale.

The sale is subject to the approval of Twitter stockholders, the receipt of applicable regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.

It should be interesting to see if congress make a move to do something they have talked about, both Democrats and Republicans, yet have avoided acting on.....that is Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

Section 230 says: “No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider.”....basically making entities like Twitter, Facebook and even Google not liable for any content or the censorship of content.

Democrats, the MSM, leftists etc have said that Musk's position regarding "free speech" was a "threat to democracy". It wouldn't surprise me if Democrats politicize the SEC, other government regulatory agencies or even change Section 230 legislatively to carve out the current protection that Twitter has before the mid-terms.

The dramatic reaction by opponents leading up to the Twitter Boards decision may pale compared to what is yet to come.

I heard today that bidens freaking out about his concerns about mis information getting out and spread more easily.
you know like all that mis-information that got cancelled during the pandemic and the election, that turned out to have been true and later reported accurate by those who were canceling it as mis information in the first place??
hunters lap top, cutting domestic energy production, (the green new deal) most hospitalizations & deaths were because of pre existing conditions not covid it's self, people in accidents being counted as covid cases , ect...
it will be good to see twitter used the way it was suppose to be used as an uncensored free exchange of information.

I’m still waiting for Biden to apologize to the border agents on horseback. While they were doing their job of preventing Illegal immigrants from entering the U.S. Biden was making up lies about those agents attacking those illegal immigrants by whipping them. Now that an investigation has shown what we all knew, that those agents were completely innocent. Not a word of remorse from Joe for trying to destroy those agents lives. And yet after a national guardsman drowns while trying to save a couple of illegal immigrants. Not a word of remorse from Joe for his failure to secure the border which caused this guardsman to jump in to save those illegal immigrants . Joe Biden is a sorry excuse for a human being, let alone the president .

To all you liberal fear mongers, lighten up, you’ll still be able to spread your lies on Twitter but now you’ll have to also read the truth . Such a problem for some. Lol , deal with it.

The pretty wealthy people in the MSM don't want to put their OWN money at risk.
The wealthy anti wealth people in the MSM hate Musk right NOW because he's not inline with their agenda of controlling information and censorship, disguised with the term "content moderation", that they haven't had to pay for on Twitter.

But the MSM has government bureaucrats that are already stepping up to help them. Alejandro Mayorkas the UNELECTED bureaucrat in charge of The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just announced he has created a new entity to police "misinformation" and "disinformation"....called the "Disinformation Governance Board".

I don't believe it's a coincidence that the "Disinformation Governance Board" was created when a "free speech absolutist" called Elon Musk is in the process of taking over Twitter.

so now they are talking about suspending the first amendment, guaranteeing the right of free speech and the ability to speak out against the government, if we disagree with it??
using the dept of home land security to create a dis-information board.
I cant wait to see the fall out over this in the courts.

Have you heard the woman they put in charge of their disinformation board? Besides her history of her own spewing of disinformation, she sings this excruciating version of a Mary Poppins song that will make you want to shove a pair of crochet needles into your ears. She dismissed herself as credible from the get go. Every decision or policy this administration makes is juvenile and basakwards . Funny how 2 days after Obama gives a speech about how we need to stop the disinformation from being spread , they come out with this gestapo type inforcement agency.
