The horns in the stands were so loud in SA, that the broadcasters had to mute out the wavelength so that the announcers could be heard.๐Ÿค™
GO HABS GO!!!!!
Oh waitโ€ฆ.wrong sport.
GO CANADA GO!!!!!:sunglasses:

OH come on. The Vuvuzela was one of the most amusing sounds in the history of the contest. I wish they adopt it in the rest of the world cups :joy::trumpet:

Oh yes, the vuvuzelas! I forgot all about those, haha.

No offense meant but here in the US it will always be โ€œ soccerโ€ which takes a back seat to :football: football. I wonโ€™t be watching fifa.

Over here there's only a very small group playing and/or into American football while there are millions of football fans. Loads of football clubs for kids, and adults, professional and amateur and both genders.
The biggest sport in the country.

I rarely watch football, and if I do usually only when our team plays. And if our team is crap I don't bother either, hihi.

I am a very passionate football supporter, as some might know.

But I will completely boycott this tournament, due to the host nation's poor record of human rights. Many active football supporters in Germany are doing the same.

If you were to travel there, would you be willing to spend perhaps thousands of euros to watch your team?

I don't really support our national team that much. But even if I would, I would never spend a single penny in a country, where human rights and worker's rights are barely existing.

After not even qualifying for the last World Cup the US made it out of the group stage. Think that's as far as we go but it's a step in the right direction. :flag_um:๐Ÿฆ…:thumbsup:

You know my opinion when it's about human rights especially in the Middle Eastern countries where human rights come usually at the end of the list for the governments. But when you want to boycott Qatar for its record of violating human rights then you gotta stop buying its natural gas as well. Which is, especially now, completely unrealistic.
Do you prefer freezing in winter than to pay the bill for heating that relies on the Qatari Gas? I know a couple of Germans who are ready to do so and I highly appreciate that....
How about you?

The fascist AfD even asked the government to buy natural gas from Iran, but I am not aware of any plans to buy from Qatar.

Since my brother works for Budweiser in San Antonio I had to ask him how much beer did Argentine get and he didnโ€™t know right off hand but said a warehouse full, enough for the 4 million people who celebrated their victory.
