and cloud the sea spray stirring the silt.
When the wiseguy's shoes tug on my legs
dragging me deeper this diver begs
a mermaid to share air with a kiss
to resuscitate the tanks with buoyant breaths.
Lifting me slowly from the murky depths
light shafts glint off her iridescent scales,
beams a shade brighter every thrust of her tail.
Pierce through the surface turn my head and see,
a cement mixing thug lurking waiting to sink me.
