Deep Waters

Rippling waves
flow
like thoughts
in and out
of my soul
without rhyme or reason
words
in need of a shore
to rest upon

It feels
as if I'm drowning
in silence
not sure
if it's the ocean
stretching from day to day
or simply
my tears
without an outlet to scream

So I write
poetry
introverted compositions
that serve
as my life preserver
