Muffin batter spilling over the waistband
casts shadows on hokey-pokey footsteps
blinding the nearsighted's view of the moves.

Choreographed slalom...
zigzagging barricades between the guardrails
looks like rule breaking to hurdle jumpers.

Checkerboard strategists dodging traffic
and airborne rubber balls
ducking behind comrades to get kinged.
