Feeling good, positive :) Sipping first cup of coffee, the sun is shining, making it nice and warm. No heating needed :)

Pretty danged good that I was able to help set up the Christmas tree for my mum.
She can't do it herself and I wanted her to have some Christmas cheer in the house since she's had a very difficult couple of months after falling, breaking her hip, surgery, recovery etc.
Then falling a 2nd time, thank goodness nothing broken that time but a good scare nonetheless.

So being able to do this for her, yup, made me happy and she's happy too!

Feeling happy that last night's dinner with my kids, son in law, granddaughters and mum was so good!
We dined at the restaurant where my son is chef. His treat. I had a wonderful time!

Feeling joyful after walking through the snow in the garden. We haven't had a decent layer of snow in about 13 years.

Feeling a wee bit concerned as my little Meggie went outdoors and hasn't come back yet.
She's just a small cat so her belly is in the snow when she walks, and that'll get really cold.
Hope she's safe!
Called out to her a number of times, even went out for that, but no Meggie :/

Feeling happy!
I've been wanting to start a new painting but somehow couldn't find the reference photo I was looking for.
I still haven't but decided to get started with the first step anyways.

Today I unpacked the last canvas I've got and Gesso-ed it :D (primer). Meaning that I now can start painting whenever I want.
Canvas is ready to go :)

Just spoke to my girlie on the phone and she used a word that I understood but thought to not be Dutch but literally translated from English.

I giggled as having that problem is so familiar to me. Turned out to be a Dutch word after all, and I again had to laugh as clearly I'm confused -again- when it comes to my own mother tongue, hihi.

I told her that I'm often still more comfortable using English than Dutch, and she said she feels the same way.
She also still uses a lot of English and English slang, as do I.
I said it would probably never change, never go away anymore. Then she surprised me by saying she wouldn't want it to. I had not expected that. And I feel the same way.
Speaking English is part of me, has been for my entire adult life. Meaning for most of my life, haha.

Difference being she speaks AmE and I speak BrE.

I do sometimes wonder why I have this fascination with the English language. It has always been that way, even when I was a young girlie.
Must be a past life thing. Which would explain why I feel so unbelievably at home in the UK and in AUS.
And then even get a daughter who's got the same 'problem', haha.
