They're only confusing to you because you are young and haven't spent enough time with women who are not family or longtime friends.

Plus, if you are gathering an assessment from what you encounter on dating sites, you are forgetting one important detail.
You are making assumptions based on a limited exposure stereotype which you created.

Try looking at each woman individually. Try understanding just one woman who interests you.
Pay attention to what she says and does.
Find the one who matches you and is interested in you in return.
