Where would online communication be without internet slang such as LOL or LMAO ?

Do you have a favourite ?

When it comes to flirting .. which is more powerful .. using slang or emoticons or writing out your intention In full ?

I am going to change LMAO to GMCAO bigsmile waving

Well this is barely on topic but...

When I was in college and the guys would call to ask
you out, they would always say the worst possible
thing.."Are you doing anything Saturday night?"

So, when they would ask if I was doing anything I
would always say 'No, but I think I can get
out of it."

There was always confusion, before the laughter.

So guys frame that question differently because you
force the chica to admit she has nothing going
on before you even ask her out.

When I was very young my mother always told me, "use your words".

I have tried to follow that advice ever since.

I rarely use initialisms in any kind of written correspondence.

But I will occasionally tell an obvious scammer to, "GTFOH".

Woo woo to all who can still do it ... and for those that can't STFU .... there! One of my internet slang terms ....

But when it comes to romancing the gals... I use straight forward Canadian English with a little Queen's English thrown in , just to be clear ...

how things have changed Soufie .. As a teenager , if I was expected a young man to ring me I used to hide and ask one of my sisters to answer the phone and say I wasn’t home . not sure what that was about biggrin

I prefer to use the Queen’s English Moto … so that my blondey intentions are clear ..

as far as emoticons go my favourite would be smitten I don’t think it is possible to overuse it on a dating site . waving

I don't appreciate slang or ridiculous abbreviations if there's romance or wooing involved. It can become quite confusing when one receives a "I like you... LOL". I don't know how to respond to that. :expressionless::expressionless:
But, I do enjoy emojis and I have a few favourite ones that I use and that I like receiving from my "love interest".
With that said, I use slang if I'm annoyed and trying to make a point. :nerd:

I relate a lot in life to music and baseball. Some makes sense, and some is confusing.
