I have been looking for a wife for a long time. Is there anyone who believes in online marriage?

For the life of me I just can’t see any benefits of an online marriage. It’s really just a pretend marriage. Furthermore, in some countries it is not possible to get married or enter into a civil partnership without the physical presence of both parties in a place approved by law

What would you gain from this, if anything? I’m curious.

Green Card perhaps? But as you said, the law requires physical presence of both parties. And they are required to reside together.

I fear you may be right River but it’s scary to think that some will go to the extreme of getting married online for the sole purpose of obtaining a Green Card. scared

Perhaps this is your view on the subject and your opinion is respected, but there are many people who got married through the Internet, despite the distance between them, as well as despite the different cultures.

That may be so but the cons far outweigh the pros and you still haven’t answered what benefits an online marriage would give you. What is the appeal?

I believe online relationships last longer
Perhaps due to the homogeneity of cultures and others... In terms of the negatives and positives, I think that life is just like this. The most important thing remains to love the other side with its positives and negatives.

But surely a physical relationship is much more fulfilling than a virtual relationship? Otherwise it’s not a marriage by definition but a platonic relationship.

Maybe it would be helpful if you explain exactly what you mean by an online marriage?

Do you meet and get married online, then move in together and cohabitate in the same household? Or do you stay separated and live your married life apart, visiting each other from time to time?

I think he means find each other on the internet (like on here (mingle2)), as opposed to conventional methods, for the purpose of a physical marriage.

Which for the most part is what some of us are already trying to do...

No, your words were not clear at all. You asked about online marriage which, in other words, is called a proxy marriage. Now that’s a whole different subject and is what I thought we were discussing.
