Best place for a first date/meet and greet is a cafe, a chat over coffee will decide if you want to date each other, and a quick retreat if you don't. Meeting in a hotel for coffee would not be my choice for a first date/meet and greet, that is more a place for meeting up with family and existing friends in my opinion.
