Eyes deep within the head
Buried in layers of lifetimes
And the smile weary of tread
Though great and powerful forces
Have encountered you so far
I could stare at you for a thousand years
And never find a scar
Who knows the wars in which you've fought
Who knows the lessons you've learned or taught
Though I can see the journey was rough
The flame burns bright within your eyes
But flickers in the breeze
A love so strong it brings me to my knees.
