Show me one proven example of someone dying because USAID was gutted. And don’t say because Paul couldn’t become Paula for free. And Paul killed hisself.. not our problem. Taking out Irans ability to start a nuclear war in the future is the clearest path for world peace in the last 40 years.
I'll admit that I cannot find "one proven example." USAID doesn't really do individual acts to save a single person. They gather experts and funding for programs to save thousands or millions over time. And most of the gripes about Trump's DOGE cuts talk about deaths (millions) going forward, but there are the cases where due to the stop-work orders, pallets of food and medicine were left to spoil in warehouses,

And here's a story about children dying in a war zone because the aid shipments that were coming, now won't be:

I guess you might be right that it's not our responsibility, in a sense. The US is not legally obligated to care about other countries. That was just something we did to be nice and show other countries that we're not so bad. However, stopping USAID in the middle of operations in order to hold up a few $million seems ridiculous when Congress is getting ready to pile on $trillions in national debt so that Trump & his rich donors get more tax cuts.
