I happened upon the Mantracker series on YouTube a few days ago. I had never heard of it, decided to watch, and dang, I love it!
Just the whole thing is great, the thrill of it all, the skill of some people, the stupidity of others. Some totally surprise you by how good they are.
And the fact that the mantracker is incredibly attractive certainly makes it even more enjoyable to watch love smitten

He's only 5' 9" without the hat.

Considering I'm never going to meet him nor date him that doesn't matter.

But have to disappoint you regardless: he's 1,83m.
Which is the exact height I'd like a man to be smitten

I hadn't bothered to look up his height, now I did, and it makes him even more appealing now, haha.
So thank you!

Yes, check it out! I think it's a good show. Just something different to watch.

What I do find shocking is that the 'prey' sometimes use barely visible tripwire. That I find ridiculous as it could serious hurt the tracker and/or his horse.
So I guess their backpacks aren't checked before the start.
At some point a woman threated the tracker with a slingshot?

The interesting thing to observe is that almost all underestimate the primal fear of being capture/killed. They brag about their physical strength and bladibla.
Yet often, when it's all over, they all say it feels like being chased by a real (serial) killer.
The primal fear gets triggered which they clearly had no knowledge of.
Except when they had 2 military vets that were trained for exactly that.

It does make me wonder how many of them have recurring nightmares afterwards, hihi. I'd never participate myself. F that!
But to watch it on the screen... good entertainment!

Since you mention finding the first 4 seasons on Tubi...
I haven't come across a single episode beyond season 4 on YouTube either?
And there have been 7 seasons...

I watched a couple of them last night, I will say that the ones on tubi, I do not think they are in order. By looking at the wiki site for the show, it says the first season is only 24 minute shows and season 2-7 are 46 minute shows...all the ones on tubi look to be the 46 minute shows. And the show they list as Season one, Episode one, one of the guys on it talks about watching the show for a while...lol
Season 7 should be an easy one to spot also, it will have Chad Savage Lenz as the mantracker instead of the Terry Grant you like...

I've come across the shorter ones on YT as well.
And I read about the replacement tracker. Only one season so I gather he wasn't liked as much.
A daft move of production. You can't simply replace a main character, not even on a docu. They should've given Terry the pay-rise he wanted. Better lose a bit of money than to lose the entire show and all your income of it.

I have only seen a few of them now, but I am surprised it lasted 7 seasons with the ones that I have seen. So far they seem like half hour shows that they tried to stretch into an hour. I am sure they had better content shooting the shows, if they didn't then that is on the people shooting it. Terry might have seen the writing on the wall and wanted to go out on top. I will have to check youtube for the shorter shows since tubi does not have them.

Having watched quite a lot of them now, close to all of 'em, I feel the first ones I watched were the best. I believe those were all season 3 episodes.
After those I kind of feel the same as you.
But maybe that's also because I binge them. Often when you watch a show on and on it starts to wear thin.
Whereas if you watch 1 a week they remain exciting and fresh for a long time.

I am not sure, but I think the ones on Tubi start off with Season 4 because their season 4 starts out looking for a new Mantracker so that must be season 7. So if you thought season 3 was the best then it might have been going down hill by the season 4 I started with...lol I am not good with binging shows, I watch a little bit and then pause it to go do something else. I even pause the 20 minute short ones...lol But I think the shorter ones were about the right time length, I have watched the first one and it seems the right length for this content.

I prefer the full length episodes.

I did notice at some point the editing was weird a couple of times. For instance Terry saying they were going to tether the horses to go check something out concerning the prey.
You then see them tie the horses to a tree. But the very next scene both Terry and his sidekick are riding their horses again?
I was like, "Did I doze off???"
I was curious what Terry had planned to do but never got to see it.

Oh well, I've seen most episodes by now, so it's okay to get a bit bored with it, hihi.
I have enjoyed it though. Some episodes were really good.

You know, I'm not certain but I think maybe in season 3 the area they were in was more equal in chances for both tracker and prey. In other episodes it was mostly in favour of the prey, always having opportunity to get up or down a high slope or something.
That's what was p*ssing the tracker of, but me as well. Takes the fun out of it when you know the prey do that each and every time. Makes it too predictable.

Time for something new :)

The editing was not very good, you can tell that the whole show was made with a low budget. But besides the editing, there is a camera crew of people out there with the tracker and the prey. I think there is two camera people that are running with the prey...are they not leaving tracks also?...lol Maybe they come back and shoot certain scenes later like when the tracker is right above the prey and the camera is panning from the prey up to the tracker. That would mean the tracker can at least see the cameras...lol

But I did find the episode of the girls who won and made him mad (the one they jumped in a car). So now I think I will go back to the other show I was watching, an old 90's show called 'The Pretender'. It is not bad, but it is definitely a 90's show...lol

It must indeed have been tricky to shoot. But Terry said in interview he never captured nor saw prey because of the camera crew.
These were highly experienced outdoors people who used camouflage and whatnot and weren't that close to the prey. I believe they also made false track every now and then.
They indeed went back to do certain shots later on.
Can't have been easy to do all that.

I found a whole lot of episodes that I hadn't seen yet and am still watching.
Yesterday watched 2 good ones from season 4. One was with 2 blond sisters who went running off in very short skirts and bare legs.
The cameraman must've had a field day, haha.
Then 1, who also did pole-dancing, scratched her leg and whined about that. Yeah, deuuuhh!! What do you expect when you go off in the wilderness like that? LOL

Another episode was with 2 citidiots, one quite fat and big mouthed. He was having a hard time, at some point thought he was getting a heart attack.
Unbelievable that such unfit overweight people even sign up for it.
At some point he was saying stuff like hitting mantracker with a stick and cutting the horse's Achille's heel with his knife? WTF?
Was a good watch as you cannot wait for mantracker to chase such nasty people down, at the very least.
I think I found that the best episode yet, haha.

So I'm not done with the series yet :D

It seems to be a common theme of this show, the prey who comes on here thinking that they are in better shape than they actually are in...and it shows...lol

I am not done with the show, I am just going to watch it every now and then. More like when it came out and you had to wait a week between shows.

Wiki says: "In past interviews, Grant has indicated that the camera crew has him stop to prove where he sees tracks and also has at times sent out false Prey and production staff to prevent him from just looking for the actual camera crew. Additionally, the Prey's camera crew often change footwear, and are expert woodsmen who often mask their presence in various ways."

It also lists a couple other similar shows:

"Wanted", a British TV show from the 1990s with a similar concept, but a more urban setting

"Hunted", an ongoing (as of 2024) British TV show with a similar concept. It has been adapted into an American version and an Australian version.

Interesting! I may look into those shows.
So far I haven't been able to find season 6 episodes of Mantracker which is odd.
You'd expect the latest season to be the easiest available. But who knows, I may still find it.

Watching an episode every now and then is probably a good idea. Keeps it fresh.

"Tubi is available in the US, Canada, Mexico, LATAM, United Kingdom and Australia." Pick one...lol

Or Roku might be available to you over there "Roku streaming devices are used by millions of consumers in North America, Latin America, and parts of Europe."
