Am I the only one who notices that about 70% of the match profiles that say 56-70+ of age have photos of young ladies who can barely have reached the age of consent?
Either Mingle2 is randomly assigning ages that are in fact not accurate or they are all liars.

One woman I did have intercourse with (scrape your filth mind out of the gutter - it was social inter-course, as in exchanging messages) admitted in the 2nd exchange that since I was being honest she had to admit she was really 42, not the 62 on her profile.
She lied!
Not that I fell for it because I told her that if she was 62 I was 129 - that's when she fessed up.

So what is it with all these young chickadees claiming to be Silver Citizens?
Are they posting photos of themselves from 30 years ago or just straight up lying about their age for some weird reason?
Oh, and more than half of them have empty profiles, which seems a good way to sift the wheat from the "bot" chaff - empty profile = not a real person.

Ladies, if you want to be taken seriously, put something about yourself in the profile, or do you just want to play "Tinder Hookup" and swipe on hot hunk photos in your matches without anyone knowing anything about you?
I believe they have an app for that called ..... drum roll please .... TINDER !!

I bet there are more women profiles who put their age way too low than the ones that go too high...lol If the age is off by decades then I figure it is just another scammer who put the wrong picture with the profile they made (it seems like they make about 20 at a time...lol)

So to summarise it...
You're in your 70s and start talking to women who look 30 years younger.
Then you get to the forums to rant that women lie about their age?
And blame the other gender for you being an old man chasing after young looking gals?

At some point in life you gotta have an idea of which ponds are for you to fish in and which aren't.

Too many men around who think they're god's gift to women. (and then harass us with their attitude)
Better is to go from your own age & looks, and what you bring to the table. That will increase your chances of fishing in the right pond and actually finding someone.

Statistics collected on dating sites states that 3/4 of women lie and 2/3 of the men also lie. I always assume that any date I go on there will be revelations about their profile. I usually accept the corrections to their profile. Age and old pictures is a common issue.

If they have lied to you numerous times and demand that you never lie to them, then that is a problem.

If women do not fill out their profile, then that is big red flag for most men.

As for looks, my late wife looked like she was in her late 20's and she was in her 60's. A couple weeks ago I ran into a girl that I thought was in her late 30's. She was twice that age. Personally I try to find women closer to my age.

Concentrate on the important things that will create a happy life-long relationship.

FYI, my recently deceased wife ALWAYS looked more than 2 decades younger than her age - good genetics one supposes, since she used no cosmetic enhancers - and she was older than I was.

In person it's not difficult to judge age accurately, but photos, which is what we are limited to here unless someone agrees to meet IRL, are an entirely different exercise.
These days many senior women over 60 photograph quite well and do have youthful appearances - albeit nowhere near some of the ones I was posting about - you understand, 25-30 year olds stating they are in their mid-50s to mid-70s, which is how they end up in my match profiles to begin with.

So, are you stating that I should practice reverse ageism whenever a woman seeking a man my age and claiming to be in my age bracket (+/- 15 years) fails to look like a withered old crone?
Or is it that you resent a man my age even looking at any women a couple years younger than you?

Another FYI, I have always been attracted to women older than myself but that "pool" doesn't seem to have as many fish in it these days.
Perhaps a man my age doesn't have a lot of choices about looks, in the pond he's fishing in.

Maybe they simply just want an older man, so pitch their age within the age range they are seeking to attract, on the basis that most people seek a partner of a similar age. Personally, I believe there are more important criteria than age when looking for a partner, good luck in your search.

I had considered that possibility Duttoneer but lying out of the gate seems to be a poor way start any relationship, let alone one with a man such as myself who detests liars with a deep & abiding passion.
I do not lie, not ever, not even to preserve the social niceties (does this dress make me look fat?)
I may be a bit odd, but lying to someone never seemed to turn out well in the end - so I stopped doing it.

If a woman wants an older man, then she should state so in her profile at least and not leave a lingering misimpression drawn from only the matching algorithm's profile headline.
The lingering impressions from that tend to quickly beg the question whether a younger woman is simply seeking a "sugar daddy" because her looks haven't paid off with a man her own age and because older men are generally more financially secure and can give her a life of comfort & ease without working & saving for it.

Not nice to make assumptions but those are cold hard facts surrounding the "self-employed/consultant/free lancer Gen-X women overstating their ages here - many are in fact working women looking for "paying dates" & this is just one more form of advertising no different than backpages or other escort ad venues.

Humm it is not just women that put up pictures saying they are one age and the picture looks 20 years younger...

Most the time those you just by pass cause they are up to no good anyway...

Just fake profiles.. google image or yandex can be your best friend... just take the extra time to google for when something normally seems way to good to be true.. then step back and search~~

I'd be skeptical about those statistics. The numbers sound believable, but I'd be curious how they collected their data.

Is it a self reported analysis?

What is a lie?

Is withholding a truth considered a lie?

Why would I report myself as a liar?

Is catfishing considered a lie?

Do the people catfishing believe they are catfishing?

Is a lack of options in drop down menus considered lies?

I believe these statistics would be higher, to be honest if it were multivariant. People are trying to sell themselves, so they are going to wash and wax, hide all the bumps and dings to generate the sell - but they are sold as is.

So true..it was by using image searches that I came to realize just how many of the female profiles are just copied & pasted from professional bios of totally unrelated people in far aware places (a petro engineering professional in Dubai claiming to be right here in my home city, for instance).

Ohh heck just yesterday I had one emailing me said he was from the area.. Haha the picture he used came up on Instagram totally different name and the guys picture he used lives in Brazil.... It is common no matter what site one is on... Just be safe and let your fingers do the searching...
