What do you mean by "long distance"? An hour of travel, a day, a week, or ...

Still imprecise. Think of Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City ...

You need to specify distance or time of travel.

its not about which country or what is the exact distance to call it a long distance relationship.. what i am trying to say here is if two people from a different place, religion, culture, ethnicity.. would work between them..

There are a bunch of threads on here about this topic if you wanted to read through some of them. But to me it never seems to last.
First off, let me clarify that to be in a long distance relationship to me means that you have met in person but live in different cities that are a ways away. If you have to think about stopping at gas stations or getting on a plane to see each other then I would call that long distance. I do not consider just talking online to be a relationship, that is more of a pen-pal thing.

Now I say it does not work because you are not able to spend enough time together to have a close relationship. Even if you were together for a long time and one had to move away, it seems like either jealousy or just a simple disconnect happens. But that is just me...

To me, that seems to be a workable definition.

My point, probably based on my early training in mathematics, is that you can't meaningfully discuss a subject until the other party clearly knows what you mean by saying something.

With definitions out of the way, I don't think that a relationship can work unless you and the other person can regularly and easily meet face to face.

Yeah, that is why I was trying to ask about the relationship part also. From the other threads it seems that a lot of people think a long distance relationship can be with someone that they meet online but never in person. To me that is more of a pen-pal and not something I would consider a relationship...at least not a one like I am thinking of as a typically relationship. So if it is just a pen-pal type relationship then there should be a lot less problems with the distance...lol

Usually people who ask about "long distance relationships", much like the folks who ask about interracial relations, are living in places they want to get out of.

The obvious solution is to MOVE 1st, THEN try to find a relationship where you moved TO.

If you are so thick-headed you can't decide where to move to, perhaps that's an indicator you aren't going to have much success finding a relationship regardless of where you move to.

OR, that person is just looking for a sugarmama/daddy to support them regardless of location & is willing to move to wherever sugarmama/daddy lives.
I'd do it, even just for the novelty of being "a kept man" for a change.
