Spectre
Going through Craig's Bond movies :)
I never really liked Spectre a lot but I guess it was very difficult to come back after something as good as Skyfall.

I don't feel the chemistry between Bond and the woman either although in interviews both have said they do have it.

Nevertheless it's a good movie. Daniel Craig still in shape and still a sight for sore eyes :)

watched 40 dates & 40 nights 2026 with Annie Potts, Bailee Madison & Joel Courtney

A struggling romantic accepts her aunt's wager: go on 40 dates in 40 nights to find true love. If she fails, her aunt will cover her rent and student debt. But the journey proves more challenging than expected.

A cute romantic comedy. Really enjoyed this one.. IMDb gives it a 6/10 but I give it 9/10

It was quite nice watching this again!
Just that I recalled it ending differently. I suppose being a sucker for happy endings makes you remember things in a way they weren't?

watched Fight or Flight 2024 with Josh Hartnett & Charithra Chandran

very much a "trainspotting" type movie but with lots of action and blood.. comical too.. I really liked this one.. fun to watch
IMDb gives this a 6.4/10 but personally I think it's an 8/10

in the true Sherlock Holmes fashion, murder, adventure, mystery and action galore
IMDb gives this a 5.9.. I however give this a solid 9

I enjoyed it. There are stellar interviews and footage.
It a beautiful documentary.

watched Neglected 2025 with Josh Duhamel
intense thriller "Detective Shaw discovers a serial killer has buried his son alive and must solve three murders to find him before he dies." it was quite a wild ride but I give it only a 7/10.. something was missing.. just not sure what..

I hope you do watch it, Slim. It stayed with me for days afterwards.


Last night I watched, "Back To Black" - The Amy Winehouse biopic directed by Sam Taylor- Johnson.
I knew that I had to lower my expectations as I was and still am a massive fan, but it was a struggle to stomach. Far too many liberties taken and an exorbitant amount of inaccuracies in both events as well as simple things like her look. If you can't even handle replicating her iconic beehive and winged eyeliner, then it's best to leave it alone.

watched Bear Country (aka The Get Out) 2026 with Russell Crowe

A nightclub owner is on the verge of leaving his dangerous past behind for retirement. After masked gunmen rob him and he finds himself squeezed by ruthless cartels, a mysterious newcomer arrives with an interest in buying the business.

twisty.. some violence.. a lil weird.. but an interesting watch..

The Book of Eli -2010
With Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis.

A good movie, especially the fight scenes are very impressive. Denzel is so fast it's unbelievable! Like watching Jet Li which is quite something as he is incredibly fast.
Turns out Denzel trained for months in martial arts style Kali to be able to do it. He did all these stunts & fight scenes himself.

Apparently he also did all or most of them in the Equalizer. You can see him train for that in this short clip:

As for the Book of Eli... good except for finding out which book it is all about. The world would be better of if that wretched book disappears, incl. all other gazillion versions of it.
Would've been a helluva lot better if the book had been the last version of "Man are from Mars & Women from Venus". At least that book would benefit mankind.
So in that sense it's disappointing, but that's my personal thing.
