My granddaughter Emilia arrived in rather a hurry and was born just after 4 this morning.
Because it suddenly went quite fast there was no time to go to hospital. There was no medical reason for hospital, and she wanted to deliver at home. But the practical reasons for going there, being a gurney from ambulance can't easily be taken up and down in case of an emergency, meant she would have to deliver in the living room and thus have a bed there or deliver on the table. Plus the living room cannot be heated well enough for a delivery.
So she got what she wanted after all: a home delivery in her own bed (normal in The Netherlands)
They'd already elevated the bed weeks ago, just in case. (This is required)
They chose to not have visitors the first 3 days so I'm guessing Tuesday is when I get to see my grandchild!
