Alice and I first chatted each other up on March 7.

When I joined Mingle, I was only looking for pen pals. I figured that I was such damaged goods that I was not suitable for a real relationship. As it turned out, Alice had similar feelings. We asked and answered questions about everything there was to know about each other. In fact, we were constantly trying to give the other any possible reason to back out. It just didn't work. Every question only led to more perfect matches between us.

Before too long, we both knew pretty much everything there was to know about each other. (I do mean EVERYthing). You really can't do this if there is any holding back or if you are afraid to ask.

Niether of us has any money, so it was only with the help of a generous angel (Alice's Mom), that we were able to have our first date in April. Alice flew out to stay with me for two days, and it was amazing. There's a lot of scenery to show off in Oregon, but we never got around to that. It's hard to believe that we have only had one date.

I have struggled with the use of the L word. My apprehension is, am I in love with Alice? Or am I just in love with being in love? Or am I just in love with being loved? I worked very hard to come up with every close synonym for the L word that I could think of, and finally gave up. It certainly feels like love. We're just going to have to make this thing run and see where it leads.

There are still things to work out. We recently had our first fight. Alice thinks I flirt too much on Mingle. I don't think I flirt at all. I merely like to express my appreciation of people that I like. Most important, I don't want Alice to feel bad. So, from now on, I won't say anything nice about anybody.

We are planning our second date in October. It will be a difficult summer, but in the meantime, we spend hours IMing every evening. Alice is very fun to talk to.

This is supposed to be a testimony for Mingle. It is unlike any other dating site that I am aware of. It offers every possible avenue for people to learn about each other. Posting profiles is just not enough. The casual stuff you learn in the forums and the intimate potentials in the emails are all a part of it. You just can't get there from picking a pretty face on a profile and hoping that you picked someone who is at least somewhat compatible. I would never have met Alice in this way on any other dating website.

Hmmm I 'd never really heard about online dating until last year. Everyone laughed when they saw me chatting to people online.
When I told them I was interested in someone in America they thought I was nuts.
When I said I was travelling to America to meet him they where sure I was nuts
When I got engaged I confirmed their suspicions that I had lost it
And now they just dont know what to think, but some of my friends have since joined mingle, One is travelling to meet a girl in June and so the story continues


So for me since joining mingle, I have made some fantastic friends, met the man of my dreams, travelled to America, and have my man moving to Australia to be with me. So all in all I would have to say that mingle has been fantastic, Whether you are looking for friends, or someone to share your life and dreams.

I was very nieve to the dangers of the real world, after growing up in small country comunities i had no idea that people could be bothered to decieve or hurt you by finding you on the internet.
.
. sooooooo even though it worked out for me , it could have been very different and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone else.

Now that I have been out of my safe little home, there is no way I would do it again,
and believe it or not my whole backup plan was to go and stay with other friends I had met on the internet..

Dear oh dear, sillier and sillier, no wonder my family was having heart failure.

Today is Lilypetal's and Michiganmn3's 2 year anniversary! We met for lunch...did a little geocaching.....a walk along the beach(Lake Michigan) That first date lasted 7 hrs. We have been together ever since. Lilypetal moved to where I am living and soon we will set up a home together. It has been a wonderful 2 yrs.

You got lucky! I had to work for years to find the one I love. It was fun and tough to Mingle till the one came.

all i did was add him to my favorites.. and the next thing i knew he was chatting with me and kept pushing that he wanted to meet me.. i was cautious at first bc i wasnt sure if he was real or not bc it seemed just too perfect.. but then i skype chatted with him and i knew that it was gonna work out!!
