I did explain it. You chose to ignore it. That is a logical fallacy with JWs who refuse to deal with all the information. Just above someone said how JWs refuse to listen and only have their own agenda. They show up at people’s doors and ask them about their opinion but they really don’t care what the person thinks or believes. And if they are confronted with anything that goes against their beliefs they either find a scripture to do the talking for them or they leave. You have chosen to post scripture.

This is harassment. What they believe isn’t the issue here. The first post clearly said he was having trouble with the Witnesses. That is the topic and you have proven that JWs don’t listen.

They have been taught a lot of logical fallacies and use them all the time to avoid things they don’t want to deal with.

And yet you have posted disinformation about their beliefs in the afterlife. And you seem surprised that someone would correct you on it.

The explanation you gave was bogus. It does not explain how "hell" can be symbolic. You don't seem to understand what "hell" is. How can your life represent "hell" when it is finite?

Of course, I post Scripture. It is the only authoritative Chrisitan source we have. Your opinions are not taken as authoritative. Just so much hot air.

CLV John 5:39 "Search the scriptures, for in them you are supposing you have life eonian, and those are they which are testifying concerning Me,

We are commanded by Jesus to read and search the Scriptures. It seems that all you are doing is making up your own version of Christianity as you go along.

CLV Matt 22:29 Now, answering, Jesus said to them, "You are deceived, not being acquainted with the scriptures, nor yet with the power of God.

I said the JWs believe that when you are dead you are dead not burning away in some hellfire. There is nothing incorrect about what I said.

I also said that when a person states that something was hell to go through they are using the term symbolically to say it was terrible. They don’t mean they were actually on fire.

My last words on this

The term "hell" is attached to a Christian, yet unscriptural doctrine. It implies burning in an unquenchable fire for eternity. It is NOT like getting caught in a burning building.

Having a bad day is not like going to a symbolic "hell."

Not only do you misrepresent the doctrine of "hell," but you have confused "hell" with death.

There is alot incorrect about what you have already said. And now you are doing what we call back-peddling to try to and undo what you have already said. The problem is, you have already said it. And you cannot unsay it.

I can only hope that these are your last words. Just remember, I will be around to correct whatever future untruths you decide to tell.

I find JW entertaining.
I watch their body language and how they play the 'leader' and 'follower' game.
When I ask a pointed question, respectfully, I watch their reactions and pay attention to what they say and most times, they would rather change the subject or deflect answering anything definite.

They seem to always lead with negativity. Trying to play on my fears of the unknown. When I don't react as they predict, they seem puzzled.
Then they will offer me something that is sure to bring me inner peace, but I already have inner peace. Then, again, they seem puzzled.
A few have actually asked my how I believe but when I start to tell them, they suddenly have to be going.
Many forget to leave me a copy of the Watchtower because they just want to get away from me.
Then, they never come back, till a new generation of witnesses are patrolling.
The behavior is rather comical laugh

Kind of like Trump supporters? oops

I have had some trouble with them. Any suggestions

They have their own version of the Canon. I personally use the Hebrew-Greek-Aramaic, but the KJV alone is good enough to reveal their inconsistencies in a side by side comparison.

They don't believe in the Deity of Yeshua.
I show them John 14:7-10, this is where Yeshua reveals He is the Father (verse 10).

Let the Holy Spirit guide You!!

These 2 thoughts do not actually relate.
On one hand, God created us with "Free Will."
On the other hand, "Free Will" means when we choose to live by our own intelligence, it ultimately leads to destruction.

All throughout the history of man, idealism has led specific peoples. But each time one idealism crossed paths to another separate idealism, it has led to destruction in the form of war.

It's a lot like living in a desert. There are years where it rains more and years when it won't. If you do not store the plenty when you are in the periods of rain, you will starve when the times of no water come.

Humanity is its own worst enemy!!

My grandfather was an Anglican (Church of England) vicar. One day when he had been retired for many years we had a family gathering - his son (my Dad) and his two daughters with our families. Some JWs came to the door and said, "Do you know, it says in the Bible..." and here I am sad to say that my memory has let me down, so I can't remember the quote they gave.

My grandfather knew his Bible inside out, upside down and probably backwards as well. He replied, "Yes, true, but did you know that the Bible also says..." and he gave a quote the was the total opposite of the first quote. It became clear that they had been trained on the topic of the day and had no answer for him. After a time, they started again with another quote and immediately my dear grandfather replied with another total opposite! This really upset them and they thought about it for a while before coming up with another quote. Again, grandad immediately countered with another opposite. This went on for a time until the JWs gave up and went away.

Back indoors we gave him a big round of applause and he made the point that you should not treat the Bible as literally true because it is full of complete contrasts. It should be used by Christians only as a guide.

Once (many years ago) when they came to my house I invited them in, a woman with her small son. We separated them, my wife spoke with the boy and I spoke with his mother. We compared notes afterwards and the boy explained that everyone who is not a JW is a devil worshipper! You're either one of us or a devil worshipper. Very sad.

When the lady offered me a copy of the Watchtower, I gave her a copy of the local Christian news, a small magazine with contributions from the Anglican, Methodist, Catholic and United Reform Churches in this area. She refused to read it because she explained she is not allowed to read anything that has not been approved by her elders! She couldn't understand why it is better for me to make up my own mind about what I read. If she had looked she would have found my magazine to be full of such dreadful things as adverts for jumble sales!

I know they keep records and I'd love to know what they wrote down because they've never called here again. They stand outside the house, clearly looking at their cards and then walk on by to the next house.

Just a thought, with the current regulations about privacy, are they allowed to keep such records about people? Are they legally required to give us a copy of everything they know about us, just as social media, banks and others are required to do? Maybe I should ask one of them and see what they say.

I really, really wish people would rip on Moromns sometime..this JW stuff gets old.

Especially cpnsidering they ALSO go door to door, set up at events (there was a Mormon booth at a bluegrass thing I went to back in 2012), have their own verion of Christianity...and (and MKgentleman, based on what you said above ^, you think JW's keep records and that bothers you?)..they have actually gone in to geneology records and are somehow vicariously baptising people into Mormonism so they can go to thier celestial heaven..

Yes, I know the Mormons are so keen on baptism that they try to baptise EVERYONE, including those who are dead. That's why they created their database of as many people as they can find. It is kind of them to make it available to people who are into geneology, although their reasons are very different.

If I had any experience of them, I would have written about it, but where I live it is rare to see them, although the JWs are everywhere. The JWs are usually a woman with a young child, or two women, never a man on his own or a couple of men. They walk along very slowly, as if daydreaming. In contrast the Mormons are young men, always very smartly dressed, looking rather like salesmen, which I suppose is what they all are!

The reason it is never a single man or two men..is because if they go to a house where there is a woman living alone...there's never the chance of someone accusing them of an impropriaty..

It happens (and most reported cases of woman being groped or raped by men in general are *true*...not made up)...I don't think anyone would accuse someone that way..but, better to remove all doubt of a possibility, than to leave an opening.

I do have peace of mind.

I have lived on my own terms when I was a drinker, drug user, women chaser.
I have lived on my own terms being sober and using my own intelligence, wisdom, and common sense.

But I have seen enough of your posts to know, you do believe in something more intelligent, more profound in wisdom, and ultimately greater than yourself.

And it is that something to where my actual peace of mind comes from.

I do "believe" in a greater thing.
That believe is pure and stronger the longer I exist.
A 'force' far beyond my understanding and it requires absolutely nothing from me and promises absolutely nothing to me.
I don't need it and it doesn't need me, we just are.
