In order to do magic and in order for the law of attraction to work in your favor emotion and feelings are paramount.
You cannot make it work if you are oppressed, depressed, sad, frustrated, angry, resentful, distracted, hypnotized, brainwashed, etc.
Anytime you are oppressed or in mental or emotional bondage of any kind you are spiritually robbed of your creative energy.
Creativity requires freedom. Freedom is paramount for any creative techniques.
Any mental activity or thoughts that cause you to feel depressed, frustrated or angry will destroy your creative energy. That is where the power of the will comes into play.
You use your will to direct your attention to more positive things that will create more positive feelings in order to regain your creative faculty.
I have been an aspiring artist since childhood and I know how oppression and depression stifles creativity.
There is another thing I noticed however. When I am joyful I can create art but I am not inspired to write poetry. I write poetry when I am saddened and depressed or angry and frustrated. In the writing of that poem, my negative energy is released or expressed and a feeling of joy and peace come over me. It for me, is like singing the blues. It makes me feel better about what is bothering me.
Here is an example of a small poem that expressed, for me, the deep feeling of sadness when we invaded Iraq.
The Pale Horse
The Pale horse cometh
Sound the drums!
The weak hearts runneth
The night succumbs.
Death rides sweeping
The desert sands
As children are sleeping
With prayerful hands.
