I wish I had taken more Women's Studies classes in college. I remember taking Women and the Law. The professor hated me because I was "too white, middle class." She actually said that to me in front of the class.

Yeah. And, I couldn't get higher than a C on anything I did in that class. Although I still ended up with a B. I guess there wasn't much she could do about my test scores in her class. But, when you turn in papers they can pretty much give you any grade they want regardless of the work you did.
I think it all started when we were talking about women's reproductive rights. I said, "If I coulnd't afford to have children, I wouldn't have any." That's when she said, "That is a typical, white, middle-class attitude". I was stunned. Of course, she was right. I was white, middle-class. But, it was the first time I ever felt ashamed to be that.
