Recently I've become obsessed with statuary.
I just spent over $300 on statues for in my labyrinth garden.
I even took really nice pictures of them to post,
but my ISP changed my web site address
and I can no longer access it via FTP.
I'm a bit upset about that.
I have about a dozen statues so far.
Most are of fairies and they are only about a foot and a half tall,
but they are quite detailed and painted with antiquated pastels
so they appear to have already been weathered.
One of the statues is a small cherub boy sitting on a swing.
The swing come with rope to hang it as an actual swing.
I will be using this statue to represent "The Fool" at the entrance to the labyrinth.
One of the fairies is sitting on some kind of plant and playing a harp.
I've decided that she will be the Goddess Venus,
and be placed next to the planet Venus on the labyrinth path.
Venus
Another fairy is sitting on a stump
She has the look of a virgin so she will represent Virgo on the path.
Virgo
The following fairy is sitting on a mushroom
A butterfly has landed on her hand
She appears to be balanced with nature or in harmony with nature
so I've decided that she will represent Libra.
Libra
The following three fairies will be set around the witch's circle in the center of the labyrinth
They will be placed at East, South, and West
The one holding the crystal ball will be near the cauldron in the south,
but she will most likely be placed on the altar at the circle's center during rituals
She will represent the guardian of the spiritual gate to the realm of the Goddesses
The fairy with the Tulip will represent the Airy Wisdom of the East.
The fairy riding on the snail will represent the Flowing Emotions of the West.
I have other statues here too that I don't have picture of.
For example, I have two children sitting on a bench kissing.
They represent "The Lovers" of tarot
They just happen to fall on the labyrinth path right after Venus the love Goddess.
I also have a statue of two different children sitting on a bench
The boy is holding a puppy and the girl has a kitten.
I will use them to represent Gemini the Twins.
I also have two statues of standing children.
One is of an older girl holding a bowl
her full grown cat is leaning against her as if wanting fed
The other one is of an older boy
He is holding his dog in his arms
They are both dressed for gardening.
I'm not sure what to use them to represent.
I might just place them out by front of the garden
instead of being on the actual labyrinth path.
I still have more statues to buy!
I have my eye on a 'water boy'
It's a $50 statue but it's about 4 ft tall.
He's carrying a large bowl on his head.
I'm thinking of using him as Aquarius the Water Bearer.
If I ever finish this garden labyrinth, I'll be broke.
