In my experience, men over 50 are less willing to settle and expect a lot more for their money...Nothing wrong with that as long as they understand that door swings both ways...Also based on personal experience, I find that men over 50 consistently choose well preserved older women over younger women...

Of course the pickling method has a lot to do with it.

Emotional intimacy LEADS to sex...women are creatures of the heart, and for us (women)or shall I speak for myself, emotional connection is vitally important. How am I to know who you are if you do not share with me what is in your mind and on your heart. Women need to FEEL love, as men need to feel respected. This all takes trust of course and that builds as the relationship ages, or it should. For me to feel loved takes attentiveness, affection, a call for no reason to say hi, it's the tiny things that add up and mean so much.

Yep, women were seen and not heard. They were also physically, and mentally abused. They were controlled by men like puppets as they were the only ones that earned the money. To me there would nothing to look forward to in life. Screw the old ways.

I am 52 and have never been married or shacked up. I have gone as long as 3 years between girlfriends. I am in good shape and have lots of stamina so, I am looking for a sex partner. It's that simple for me. I am not interested in lots of drama because I dont bring any drama! I am just wanting somebody who is local to go out with and possibly enjoy some other pleasures with as well. I don't know if I will ever marry. I never had ANY desire to have kids, which dovetailed nicely with my extra broke, crappy jobs, struggle every day lifestyle when I was young! So, now I am less broke, better job, and no kids. My life is really quite simple.

Seems like your statement is proof of the old saying that "Women are from Venus and Men are from Mars". Men tend to come from a purely physical aspect, women engage their hearts and emotion. That's why some men tend to be so shallow and selfish and purely physical and women are giving and come from the depth of their souls. Again not all men and not all women fit neatly into this category. I refuse to be involved in a physical relationship with someone whose only interested in his own physical satisfaction. To me it's a very self centered attitude.

I have read the "Mars/Venus books. I think there is some good info in them, gave the audio set as engagement presents.

Just don't go generalizing about the sex's. There are always people that march to their own drummer & will never be called "NORMAL".

oldsage, You have to love friends like ese, someone has to!! He just has too much time on his hands, he needs a girlfriend to keep him company. Maybe you need to find him girlfriend rather then share your Jack Daniels with him.

Hi How are you ? I'm over 56 and just look for simple things in life. I want to make friends first and enjoy doing things together and get to know each other. I think a lot of people over 50 make life more complicated than it should be. Just want to find someone who wants to get to know me first. How about you . To me the little things so much when you are getting to know each other. Little messages saying Hi how was your day? Maybe a flower sometimes . It's just the little things that mean so much before it moves too fast

Well I must be the exception to the rule, in that I don't want to know about the person's past, I like to learn a little each time we meet but not by asking questions. If someone wants to tell me something that's ok by me but I'm not the inquisitive type at all.
The whole of life is a learning process. What a funny old world this would be if everyone knew everything about each other. If I do meet someone I would truly to start with a clean plate. As you say sex is different at our age, it doesn't have to be the be all end all as it was when we were teens. Don't get me wrong I love sex and if it happens it happens but no big deal if it doesn't. There is a hell of a lot more to a relationship than sex...

Yeah; I am the same way as I don't want to know someone's past; especially in relationships. I think that should stay confidential between the couple and I have no need to pry. If the guy wants to volunteer the info; then fine but I am okay with him keeping his past to himself. I also keep my past private as well.
