Maybe because I'm new at this and have no concept...

Why would someone not include at least ONE picture on a profile.

I view the lack of a profile picture as a gesture of rudeness; like inviting me to get to know you but with my eyes blindfolded! grumble

Its not rude when people don't have a profile picture as people have various reasons. I know of cops and teachers who are very private people; so they are hestitant to post their profile picture. I respect their right to post or not post their picture and would rather know them for who they are and not what they look like.

I can see how you might feel that way if the person was asking you to meet. Otherwise, I'm not sure how it means they're being rude to you.

yes that is a rather self centered POV...the province of the very young :)

but we love them anyway

Thank you for the compliment. I thought the captions would give would-be-friends a chronological perspective and how old I looked at that time frame.

Completely agree! I understand that people aren't comfortable with putting them up, and I respect them for it! it just makes me nervous about answering some, sometimes... :/

It is true...not everyone on here wants to date and
sometimes they believe that their pictures do not
have to be posted. I myself am not here for dating,
I did post pictures but I don't care what anyone
thinks. Now if I was dating someone and he asked me
to take them down, I would but I would not leave this
site. I have to many friends here. flowerforyou

I will have to agree that if the person that contacted you has no photo it is rude & that they are hiding something. a lot of people go online to have affairs and they hide their photos so that their spouse or partner cannot catch them. Please do not be naive about this subject and quit giving people excuses for hiding the truth. After all looks are the first thing that people go for....

This is not true! We have had people come on here
and actually say that they are married and want to
have an affair. There are people on here that do NOT
want to date so it is not a law that they have to put
their picture on here so what is the big deal?
It is a freedom on choice if someone puts a picture up
or not. Rude, how is it rude that someone don't put a
photo up? Maybe they think it is none of your business
what they look like or maybe they have a job to where
they work in the public eye. So please do not be naive
and think you know it all you are new and you will learn
this is a good group of people.

I guess you are offended. Well if their intent is to find friends only and not date that's fine if they have no pics. But if they are looking to date I think it is very important to post a photograph of yourself before you introduce yourself to somebody.

Oh I am not offended at all. I was explaining that not
everybody on here is here for dating. Even some that are
on here for dating don't want to post their pictures. I
am sure that if the met someone that they really were
interested in, they would send a picture to that person.
But not everyone has to see each person and that is their
right to keep their identity private.

Not to be rude, but how do you think the photo less prospect would actually find someone they were interested in? do you think they would search profiles with no photos or do you think they would search profiles with photos? In all practical senses two photoless profiles would probably never even meet. And if they are so worried about their privacy they should hire matchmakers that do this for a living.

Would you rather be wanted for your personality, or your looks? I can take interest in a guy with no pic. I'm happy dating a guy who looks average or what others may consider "ugly". As long as we can conversate, and have a good chuckle, then that's good enough for me. And if they're genuine about dating, they'll make it known.

Unfortunately you are a female and females can accept men regardless of their looks. Men however will not. And I happen to be a female that will not accept any man for just his personality. They have to have both.

Perhaps you could just feel into the void for the essence that might be them ...that isn't really them ...but the them you would want them to be ...so that you could fall in love with the image that they would want you to have ...so that when you finally do see them you will already be in love and will overlook the fact that they really are a blank blue box.
