I always read the complete profile and look at the photos. I have a list of red flags I'm looking for and if I find any, I move on to the next profile. If I think she might be who I am looking for - and vice versa - I will initiate contact. Haven't had that happen yet here on mingle, but I'm not giving up hope yet.

Dodo_David is right! If I get a "hi", I do not respond. If I get a "Hi, my name is ___. How are you doing today?" I respond. I will respond regardless of what my profile says I am looking for because I do not mind making long distant friends. I do not see where it can go though because that is all it will be ... Just Email. So, it is kind of pointless.

Well, I do read profiles. Attention to details. I think some folks are a little unrealistic about what they want. Not everyone is built like Brad Pitt or make a million dollars a year. Prince Charming isn't coming on a white horse with a glass slipper. But there are some genuine people here. As far as scammers, I've been contacted by 20 -35 yo women that when you chat with them they say they live in Ghana or some such place. Not cool. Be real or get lost is my feeling. Without honesty you can't expect to get a relationship. Just my 2 cents.
