I DO read the profiles, although to be honest, I look at the pictures first.

There is a hint of sexism here, in that you're assuming that WOMEN read the profiles, and I can assure you they almost NEVER do. I am constantly questioned him what I do for a living, a question I would never be asked if women were reading my profile. I am also constantly questioned on what I am looking for, another question I would never be asked if women were reading my profile.

On another website, I have strict instructions, in capital letters, telling women who are out-of-state to NEVER contact me because it is pointless. And yet they contact me, and then ask why I ignore them.

I agree. Lots of men told me they read my profile and liked it. I didn't fill out my profile! It showed me who was full of crap! I appreciate the info so I can avoid those men!

As a man I felt that this issue concerns me too .. Well for me personally the profile as such is actually the most important and interesting part when it comes to a person. Picture is very much needed to, but the main thing is still a good profile. It's usually very individual and says everything you need to know to begin (or not) a successful conversation. It gives you a reason ..
But do women read the profiles .. !? Actually seems they don't either. This is an incorrect generalization, I know, but so far each new contact keeps asking for my hobbies, what I'm doing for living and what I'm looking for on this dating site ..
But for me it's not such a big deal .. coz may be for some people this the easiest way to start acquaintance .. just ask something to show your interest and who can refuse to answer, right? ..

Recently, I am not into reading profiles...I rather read in the forums....its much more interesting.....and informative....especially , some posters who you maybe into....just saying...

I don't know about other ladies but I read profiles of everyone who views or peeps at my profile. I also seek to understand more about forum 'HE'buddies I find interesting, striking or even annoying .

Now, from most of my admirers I get unbelievable questions, a proof they had not read my so detailed profile . Where are you from? What are you looking for? Do you have children? Are you local? Blaaaaaaah.....

How do you respond without appearing rude? I sympathize with the male species tendency to the visual sense. However, make an effort to find something from the profile to help you with ice breaking. It's a mark of maturity. Otherwise, please complain not if you are ignored.
