HAHA! I love these responses... it's awful isn't it??

We live in 2016 .. I'm stunned that many men think it's okay to address a woman for the very first time by "sweetie, honey, angel, baby, baby girl, sugar, sexy"... Those are terms that should be reserved for a much closer/intimate relationship (and really, some just shouldn't be used- baby girl???)... Grown women are not babies, or angels, or baby girls. It's not really a compliment, although I think it's meant to be kind of a nice gesture. I guess it has to be that there are men that just don't know that it's a turn off... and I suppose there are women out there that like that sort of thing so why would men think any differently...but many of us do not. We are mature, intelligent, women who like being told we look nice, we are smart, we are interesting, have compelling thoughts/ideas, we are witty, we have a great sense of humor, we have a nice smile- those kinds of things are very nice to hear and THANK YOU to the men who have said so :-).

You know Rebel Archer, i totally understand that... there are regional ways of talking and I wouldn't feel the same if I were in Georgia, N.Carolina etc... and had a waitress or some other person call me sugah haha... it's just not appropriate when you are first trying to connect with someone.. and definitely NOT 'sexy'.. ugh.. that is so insulting.

Haha! Again, you have me rolling with laughter... I have tried to explain to men that even though they may not mean it to be insulting, it actually is. Then comes nasty replies because they don't like being told that they did something they shouldn't. I have had ONE man take a step back and apologize. I have tried the response "Hey baby boy, how are you?" um... ya.. crickets... hahaha!

Baby Girl! That was what my last short-term boyfriend started calling me on our very first meet n greet!
He asked me if I minded him calling me that, I thought it was a bit too soon for pet names, but said it was ok. He also called me beautiful and gorgeous all the time so that made up for it.
So no I don't mind, but I am from the south and we call everyone honey, sweety or sugar down here.

But I do understand where you are coming from.
And to each their own.
I try to lighten up some, as I get older, hell the last poor guy that I talked to on here said he felt like he was trying to get thru a security clearance by the questions I asked him! Lol

Yes, I get that... I'm from Maine so we just don't call strangers those kinds of things :-) It really does make a difference where you come from..but.. there are some things I just can't take.. like 'Hi Sexy'.. ugh
