I have no problem with any of those terms of endearment in the OP. Not at all.
I would even like to be called that way. It would make me feel loved.

It's gotta come from my partner though, not anyone else, and I wouldn't want to be called any lovey dovey name all of the time. But that goes for "hun", "darling" etc too. (darling is one I really dislike. Always sounds fake to me.)

"Angel" is quite common to me, as it's an abbreviation of my own name.

I think the reaction to these things depends more on who's saying it, then the words themselves.

if someone you're really attracted to calls you sugar, honey, sweety....most likely you'd take it stride or perhaps even get giddy.

but if it's a guy that you wouldn't be interested in until hell freezes over...you're going to get annoyed and tell him what he's doing wrong. ....and how he has no right to speak to you that way etc etc...when the truth is,, he could have said everything right and you still wouldn't have been interested

I don't believe the use of such pets names is not gender specific. On initial meeting such pet names not appropriate used by male or female . It is about respect
