The only problem I see with your explanation Tom, is where did the Universe, which is in this state of absolute zero come from ? Basically you are restating Newtons Laws and reaffirming the religious dogma that God is eternal.
Well, since I know there wasn't anyone else there when the "Big Bang" happened nobody can know for sure what causes the Universe to erupt.
However, based on some theories I have read that try to explain some of the conditions of reality, I 'guess' that the current Universe is a result of some type of matter that suddenly had a change of state.
Since NOTHING/NOBODY anywhere can actually prove me wrong, my explanation is as valid as anyone's.
I have no problem with the concepts implied with the "Big Bang" but the Universe is not expanding in such a way to support a "Big Bang".
If it was a Big Bang, there should be a way to track back to the original BANG point, but that can't be done because the Universe is expanding like a percolation instead of an explosion. No definable expansion directionality.
The Universe expands more like a pot of boiling oil than a firecracker.
If you take that into consideration, something must be happening at the atomic or sub-atomic level everywhere.
I'm aware that zero-point energy theory is shunned and considered unrealistic. Yes, it has its problems.
However, I believe the mechanism that is causing our current Universe to expand as it is, also played a significant role in how this Universe was created.
Then, take what I have gleaned about absolute zero and the properties of matter and the idea that eventually the Universe will slow to a halt and freeze solid then you have an idea of how I might conclude that a frozen Universe existed before this Universe erupted.
Given that matter everywhere was frozen solid, not even a spin of a particle of matter, a force caused a chain reaction that initiated a change of state that resulted in a percolation that was transmitted throughout the early Universe.
Since nobody can even start to speculate as to what caused that change of state, it MUST be GOD.
Nobody can look outside this Universe.
Who is to say there isn't a graveyard of prior matter out there that didn't change its state?
Our view is relative to our existence.
Everything we call our Universe might be a single atom of a prior Universe of matter that still lies frozen.
Size is relative to the observer.
13.7 BILLION light years to us might be the surface of a neutron, electron or proton in a Universe of a different scale.
Just because I might call that unknown force God doesn't mean it was a God that created us for any purpose.
We change atoms all the time with fire and movement, we are not doing anything on purpose yet we do initiate change.
I believe that is what happened.
I believe that is the reference to God.
That some force initiated a change of state that caused a reaction but the reaction is relative to the Universe in which it was created and to the rest of reality, insignificant and short-lived.
Its a somber pill but makes sense.
