YellowRose10,
Hey you , well I say this put yourself in a cop shoes. okay I give you a scenario, I'm a cop, rather I'm a veteran or rookie to the force I kiss my wife, hug son , kiss the daughter on the cheek, rub the dog head on my way out the door. Now I'm in a squad car heading to precinct for briefing then start my daily routines on the beat. Now I see a car full of what looks like 4 blacks , loud music, and they swirling, and I see outdated stamp tickets. So I put the siren on and they take slow stop. I get out the car not knowing if anybody in the car was strapped. What if this scenario plays out to the point somebody in the car feel picked on and decides to shoot back at me. So next I would call back up and chances are if not one or all of them will lose there life once back up arrives. Not if the scenario goes this way where everybody calm, and willing to cooperates well I tell them why I stop them since everybody working along with me I decided to write a small fine ticket and send them on there way.
I have had my mother pulled over , the reason the cop gave at first was that she slowed down,,since she was getting on the off ramp where decreasing speed is NECESSARY,, he changed it to that he saw her talking (her windows were slightly tinted),, not on a cellphone mind you, to a passenger in the car. He searched for something to justify pulling her over but found none and just 'let her go' with a warning,,,lol
I have been pulled over for allegedly running a stop sign, (which I hadnt) and , like in a scene from the movie 'Get Out' , my black passenger was asked for a drivers license, but not my white passenger
I have been in a car on a double date, both interracial, where the driver was my date (a white male), I was asked to take a breathalizer (I wasnt driving) and again,,,the black male passenger was asked for his drivers license as well(only he and the actual driver were asked)
I have had my brother playing in the front yard of our home with our dogs, and cops pull up with guns drawn because neighbors had called who had not recognized him( he wasn't trying to get in the house, just playing with a dog in the yard)
so I am aware of the nasty truth that racism hasn't escaped every police person on duty everywhere,, I am also aware that this does not represent the entire profession
police did capture and arrest the man who assaulted me at the park
I appreciate your advice about staying alive to fight the good fight
