I have already conceded a difference between following an ACTUAL description of an ACTUAL suspect, and general profiling.

but people also actually EXPERIENCE what they claim they have

There are good and bad everywhere. My point (duh) is race IS a part of profiling and profiling is legit when looking for a criminal.

profiling is a general term, sometimes its used for a specific known suspect, and sometimes it is used in general against a group

the latter is the part that gives problems and encites discussion and protest

he literally put on the lights, we pulled over

he came up and asked her if she knew that she had decreased her speed, and she asked if it was illegal to decrease speed on an exit ramp

he then took her license and came back and told her he noticed she was talking,,,to other passengers, while driving,,

she confirmed that she was

he 'warned' her to pay attention to her speeds and let her go with a 'warning'

it happened to be a new luxury car,, but maybe that had nothing to do with it either,,,

Your mother got pulled over.. were you in the car?.. do you know exactly what happened to make the cop pull her over?.. do you?.. no.. you are going by what your mother states. but right away it was because she was black.

I just posted it exactly as it happened. Whatever happened to cause the stop should have been EXACTLY whatever he gave as the reason to stop her,, but he had none.

I learned that no occupation is without racism. I learned that we cant control others actions but can control our reaction.

well last year when I was stopped I learned the art of survival. see if I really let that cop have it I might end up in jail for assaulting police officer or dead shot down. its a classic case of when the cat's away then the mice will come out to play.

yes, its important to know our boundaries, legally and otherwise. My brother was stopped again visiting us in Las Vegas. He is a doctor, trimmed hair, manicure, walking with a BOOK in his hands. The cop stopped and asked him for ID and tried his best to get him in the car, but my brother (who is also ex military) knew his rights and knew the right questions to ask (am I being detained, am I under arrest) to cut it short and be let on his way.

I used to be that hot head kind of guy.....but then I learned real brawn comes from intellect & chess moves. How you survive the mean streets is not how well you fight, how many weapons you have or even how many people maimed. Its how will you out smart your enemy like chess.

you and my brother would get along on that front,,lol

he is very no nonsense but very aware and well educated.

just a random incident, the father didn't pull over and then when he did, the cops seemingly open fired on him, killing his son... i just posted it to show it's not about black or white, it's about following the laws and police commands... seems everyone involved with that incident is going to lose, all because of not just pulling over when the cops wanted him to..

yea, i see that all the time when the cops are looking for a white guy, but only pull over black guys...

i think you forget was a cops job is - to stop crime, enforce the law... it may not be fair, but people that look suspicious to the police will probably get pulled over at some point...

but i see like this - if we, as citizens, know our local laws then we can have a leg to stand on when something like this happens... i think EYE said something about not being a hothead, but get knowledge rather than brute... thats what all people need to do, is get smarter and quit trying to fight the police... everything they do has to go through a court of law, and the lawyers and judges know if the cops are wrong/breaking the laws...

Let's just have anarchy for a while and see how that works. If you live through it let us know what you conclusions you reached.
