More then 1/2 the time I travel thru airports I am pulled to the side and given a closer check.. at times asked to answer questions. power up my lap top, take your shoes off ( again) ect, ect And not only in the U.S.A. It happens in other parts of the world where air security measures are followed.

There must be something about the way I look.. walk.. talk.. places I go to or have been to.. really don't know ... but it clicks with security .

Is that profiling.. yep.. it is. in the truest form. It is a inconvenience but it doesn't bother me one bit.. I do as they ask, answer whatever questions they have, show them whatever paperwork they want to see and then go about my way

I appreciate that they are soo thorough and I feel safer that they are doing what they are doing.

I would mind if it was a pattern not based on any reason beyond my race or nationality

TSA is not supposed to profile racially either,,,




Nobody says the TSA was profiling due to race?

And how exactly do you know it is because of your race or nationality?. I didn't think it was due to that in my case.

I'm white...so clearly there is something else that raises their eyebrow.

And its not my color.. or nationality.. Being white and American.. and all....

Why do you think that the case with you or yours?. strictly because they are black? really?.. always defaults to that.. doesn't it........

no, they don't profile, it's not only the muslims that are going all over the world blowing crap up... oh, wait, it is only the muslims...

maybe profiling isn't such a bad thing, huh...

Such policies can be set expressly in law (de jure) or observed in practice (de facto), but the designation "sanctuary city" does not have a precise legal definition.

This is aiding and abetting. If the residents allow it, they can pay for it

Ya don't like your ethnic group being profiled.. stop doing things to draw the attention of the authorities.. simple as that.

Back a few years, the IRA was very active, and there was profiling going on in NYC and other Irish heavy towns. Because the IRA was seeking money and guns for their " cause".. and they were getting it from Irish sources here.

Now, I truly believed in their cause.. still do but I do not believe in killing innocent people as they did with their terrorist bombs.

So I had no problem with MY ethnic group being profiled at that time... why.. because many were doing the " wrong thing". And wrong is wrong regardless of color or ethnic group.

Let's try not to antagonize her, she's still in denial I think.
A lot of sanctuary cities and counties will will be looking at loosing state funding also. They'll have to splain that to their constituents.

well, you are very forgiving and perhaps that is defeatist or progressive


perhaps because you can speak about a brief period that you had to endure in a specific time and place, and not a history that your demographic has had to suffer systemically

I do have a problem with general profiling rooted in race

I would have it if white men were suddenly disproportionately being pulled over to check their car for children (as they do the 'wrong' thing in pedophilia rings)

or if white men were being stopped whenever there was a fire (as they do the 'wrong' thing in most cases of arson)

it's harassment, plain and simple, some people don't mind being harassed and feel its for a good cause

others don't see that good cause as anything more than a BS excuse to continue a HISTORIC trend
