I suggest that if love has any relevance.
It would have to be first invested in oneself. As the body and mind develop. so does the core.

there's a strong argument for selfishness being altruistic if practiced in good faith.

It may even be only possible in good faith exclusively, as our ability to identify relevant factors expands.

A tenuous connection can acceptably be explored between selfish and selfless expressions of love.

It even may be necessary to clarify between selfish expressions and selfless demonstrations.
Which I find delightfully counter intuitive.

I personally feel that the selfish expression avoids manipulative abuse in a fascinating way. It doesn't make sense without the Zero-sum framework that selfless demonstrations of love rely upon for meaning.

love is love ..... don't try to limit it in definitions.. because you can't ...it is limitless..
