From mightymoe
I don't see it mattering if it's a sin or not...isn't it true that all you have to do is recant to God and accept him and all is forgiven? There's some kind of escape clause they put in there...

Yes. It's called Jesus Christ. He shed His blood for your (and mine) sins.

Its ok, you have time...apparently you can do it on your deathbed, so you can sin up till then...

The problem with that is you never know when it will come. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed, even though we act like it is.

tomorrow is always gaurenteed, we just might not see it... Kinda odd though... God says not not to put any other before it, but yet you say pray to jesus, a man?...what

So what is the difference between the "children of God" and the "Sons of God"?

We are all “children of God” in the sense that were are children of God’s creation.
We are not all God’s children spiritually. The Bible even refers to some people as sons of the devil like in I John 3:10. Spiritually, only those who have been born again (through baptism by faith) have become adopted (spiritually) as children of God. This can only happen because, through baptism, we are united to Christ, the Son of God. So sonship/childhood is rooted in Christ’s Sonship. (Ephesians 1:5).
Jesus was begotten, but not made. Begotten of God before all worlds (space and time). He is God from God, Light of Light, very God of very God. Of one substance with the Father. Through Christ all things were made. (Colossians 1:15–20, John 3:16, 8:58 and 17:55)
It is important to compare John 3:16 with Ephesians 1:5. Christ is the only begotten son, but those who are born again become God’s children by adoption. Christ is the very substance of God. We are called to participate in the Triune God by His grace, becoming as he is in likeness, but we will never share that substance.
The Son is not generated from the Father so as to make a separate Deity, nor is the Son simply an emanation of God. God, being unique, is one deity with three co-eternal energies (hypostasis) which interpenetrate each other, but are distinct from one another. The energies are all personal, with identity, but not independently so as to be separated from the other two. The relationship these energies have to one another is revealed to us in Scripture, and later clarified, in the Triune formula. The Father is the fount of divinity, The Word/Son of God is generated from the fount, and the Holy Spirit proceed from the Fount of divinity through the Son. These names are not mere titles, then, but names that distinguish these persons/energies by how they related to one another. This is very scholastic, but it is historical Christian teaching on the matter and is an essential doctrine, not a secondary one.

doesn't matter to me, I don't believe either one...I think he was just a person smarter than those around him, and took full advantage of it... Amazing how you people think the bible makes perfect sense when it is so full of contradictions and plot holes...not one god, but 3 - and they re all the same...ridicules, IMO....

look at it this way...God says in the bible do NOT put ANY OTHERS before him...doesn't say except for his son, it says no others, period... Now some dude comes along and says hey, I'm gods son, your his children, but I'm his son...worship me...and you do, directly disobeying gods word that you revere so much...

There is no "trinity" in the Scriptures.

Like I said in far from being all mighty religious
I'm far from religious,i don't disrespect peoples beliefs, but I don't understand faith... That's why I say the things I say to see how intelligent religious folks really are, and to try to learn what they base their faith on...I myself have never heard a response that would give me a reason to think the bible or religion has anything to do with a God... Not saying there isn't a god, I'm just thinking that the bible and organized religion are not what people think they are... But if that's how people wanna spend their life, I have no problem with it...

If you didn't care you wouldn't be arguing about it unless you just like arguing. If you don't believe why ask questions on something you've already convinced yourself was not true.

Smh escape clause lol

Safety net? Is that better? I need to read up on that. I've been sinning a lot, so I need to make sure I get it right...maybe I can go to a Catholic priest and do some hail Mary's...

If you go to the Catholic preast he'll do it for you laugh and don't bring Mary into it, she was struck by lightning coming out of Ann summers laugh

I read it and if you do not care or care to believe don't argue the point. If you don't believe nobody will be able to convince you otherwise. I don't understand how you don't understand faith. Have you never had it? In anything? Or is it just faith in God you do not understand?

Faith is nothing more than a guess, a hope...I deal in realities, if you hope for something, that tells me there's not more anyone can do to make it a reality... I can't understand how someone can look at their lawn, or a canyon, or anything and then say God created it without even trying to understand the complexities of how it was really formed or evolved...seems like lazy thought process, not even a best guess, but just plain making things up from no basis to start with...I can't picture people being that dumb in this day and age, so it has to be a lazy thought process...

You seem very bitter towards a God you do not believe in.

I don't believe in the Easter bunny and guess what?
I don't get angry at "it".

I like how you are presumptuous regarding how people think regarding God and faith.

I also like how you say "you people" in a derogatory manner.

That is great! Congratulations!!!
