I don't fill out my profile. If they want to know something about me, they can make the effort to message me and ask. It's dating, not a job interview. I don't need to provide a CV.

Men don't read. Profiles!

Oh yes we do. They're just usually very bland and don't really give us anything to open up a conversation with. Besides when we message a woman regarding something on her profile, she automatically assumes that we're only pretending to share that interest with her to get down her underwear.

Mentioning something on her profile almost never results in a response.

I read profiles.
Call it a hobby.

However, there are dozens of men on Mingle2 that come and go .

They do not read Profiles. I have had many contact me. No, they were not Scammers.

They no Nothing of these Forums.

Men who don't read the profiles but have game will achieve hook ups.
Men who do read the profiles and have no game, will be instantly dismissed/ignored.

Meh.
Maybe that's what the younger set wants..

Well, personally, I have a very interesting profile. But no one reads it. It tells you right upfront who i am going to delete. So i spend a LOT of time deleting immature boys from foreign countries and old men from foreign States. !

Mingle has always been a little odd about that. Before Match bought out POF, you couldn't have a profile on POF if you didn't fill it out. I forget now how many characters it had to be. It made it so people had to say a few words about themselves. And it had to make sense. Since Match took it over. 2 and 3-word profiles usually get kicked out. Especially if it has a fake picture.

Which, at the same time, cut down on the amount of scammer, spammer and bot traffic. Now, on POF, you can specify how many characters a person has to type before the message will send. That helps a lot too. It makes it easier to avoid those spammer/scammer types of messages because of the algorithm. It will kick out the profile and message before you even have a chance to see it.

If Mingle would adopt something like this, many more profiles would be filled out by real people. Since they don't, sometimes it's hard to figure out who is real and who isn't. Usually, spammer/scammer types are not going to write very much. But when the site requires X amount of characters in your profile and messages you send, many of those types will leave for easier pickings.

They don't want to have to type 50 to 150 characters on the 20 or 30 profiles they started. If they try to copy&paste the same text on every profile, that will get them caught and kicked out.

Reading the profiles is fun. See how many of them are exact copies. See how many the profile and persons names don't match. See how many personal descriptions don't match the photo. It's a quick signal as to who you're really dealing with. Enjoy.
