I'm wondering... does a car clock reset itself to winter time and daylight savings time by radio?
My car clock was still on daylight saving time, now I went somewhere, switched the radio on and a little bit later I realized it was displaying wintertime.
Is that how it works?

My car is 14 years old even tho the clock is digital I still have to set it myself when daylight savings happens.. Not sure about the newer vehicles they may reset themselves like computers do..

My truck is about 23 years old and like the rest of us hermits i rarely even look at the clock. whoa

I imzgine if you have anything like XM or satellite radio then it could possibly reset itself off the signal it recieves. And possibly onstar can do it for you too.

*shrugs*

My car is 18 yrs old, and I cannot remember ever resetting it myself. That's why I was surprised to see it was still on the wrong time. A few days ago I actually thought I'd bleeped up an appointment when I looked at the time in the car. "OMG!! I'm too late!!" then realized it was still on summer time.
But now it has reset itself, must've been the radio, as I hadn't had that on yet after the time change.
Just wondered about it, never thought of how that worked. In the past I ALWAYS had my car radio on so there was never a delay, it always displayed the right time.

I guess it's not the age of the car but a matter of how fancy your car radio is? My car radio is also 18 yrs old btw, but maybe just has a few more gadgets built in.

Nope. Unless someone broke into my car without leaving any trace, without stealing anything, just to reset my car clock, for which I think you'd need a key otherwise it doesn't even light up.

I just read that it is indeed to do with a radio signal. DCF, transmitted from Germany, reaching some 3000 kms.
Maybe you in the States are just out of reach tongue2

Hihi, more and more people talking about that these days.
It took me just over a week to get used to it, always does.
I kept getting hungry around 3.30-4pm, my cats weren't chuffed about having to wait an hour for their food either.
And I woke up earlier as well, that one is new. Nothing could ever disturb my sleep, hahaha.
Now, a week and a half later, I'm pretty much back to normal.

Summer time's worse... missing out on an hour sleep... sick Take me longer to get over that...

Crystal, I may be out of touch sometimes but not out of reach. laugh My car is only a year old and it's clock changes itself when Day Light Saving Time comes around.

Not too bad, some people buy another car when the ashtray is full.

Finally someone who's got an up to date car clock!
In springtime I'm gonna heed when it switches over, if this indeed happens if I turn on the radio :)
