It's everyone saying We do not want to believe in love anymore, it's too painful...

Everyone is not saying that. Just those who claim that the grapes are sour.

I'm not "normal" Far from it and absolutely glad to not be caught up in people's dramatic headgames :D... so go ahead lie around the bush pee in the pool do the stuff you like to do on the weekends... It's grown up times. You'll have some smart comment for saying the obvious statements that are misdirected and unintentionally provoked to cause others to rally... idc man it's your life but keep your games to yourself eh? :).

...of being lied to and missing their turn?

missing their turn at what??

OT: I think one fear women may have is ending up alone. That is a fear a lot of men have also.

Nothing to fear, that is the standard condition when you get old. We are all too set in our ways to be compatible with most of the other people in our world!! We keep looking but not finding someone we could actually be interested in and them in us. Just the condition of life!!!

This subject came up in another topic and appears in my daily life. I'm currently in a resort area where I do not know anyone. I regularly go for walks on the beach and to happy hour. I usually can strike up a conversation with another single man or a woman who is accompanied by a man. Starting a conversation with a single woman or 2 is almost impossible so here are my questions.

Are single woman truly fearful of any interaction with a single man who is a stranger?

Is it a reasonable fear?

What can a man do to make them more at ease?

How much of that fear is a result of sensationalized news or social media?

I have no problem with talking to a man that approaches me for conversation.

I have to be Attracted to him before I would continue any length of time.

I can only answer for Myself! Women don't all think alike.

Depends on the vibe we get and our experiences- have most been good, or bad. Maybe you're not they're type. Maybe they don't want to date. Maybe they're spoken for. Who knows? I can't tell you how to abate their fear since I don't know how you are approaching women. It could be the area since you don't appear to have a problematic history. Women tend to be more guarded in such places. Do you go out alone all the time? That can put off a "creepy" or questionable vibe. Unfortunately, I am always suspicious of ulterior motives. I know that not every man has ulterior motives, but at 46 and being single most of my life, I've just encountered so many negative interactions that yes, I'm really wary of men now.
