"I am also aware that mere documentation also caused people to see them as inferior and dangerous people that should be 'rounded up' and some even believed death was appropriate for such a breech as trying to be free when it was illegal. "

That would be your projected perception, not mine.

Your belittling terminology might fly in a school yard, I think it's time you grew up a little at least.

what terminology was 'belittling'?

I am very grown and trying to have a civil discussion.

Conduct yourself accordingly than.

Edit: You started the school yard talk

I have been conducting myself accordingly, providing data and opinions, and not just trying to shut down discussion by claiming people are on 'soap boxes'.

You think I'm trying to shut down the discussion? And doing so by using the term "Soap box"?

Congress won't do jack or chit,
to curb illegal immigration.

They'll do their level best, to do nothing.
They'll call it a bill, give it a nice name,
and run soundbites for the media.

And, that's all that will happen.

I hope you are very wrong!! I hope Trump won't accept such a bunch of s+it and force it back to Congressfrustrated

I'd hope to be wrong.

However, congress is comprised of
loony Tide Pod eaters, and cowards.

A "super majority" 66% vote, is all it takes,
to override a presidential veto.

You do know, that a group of baboons,
is called a "congress"?

If I were a baboon, I'd be offended.

I watched the meeting last night along with the news conference after. It seems that many on the committee are actually willing to work for a compromise. There are several who are not; this came through some in the democrat news conference after. Maybe in a couple days there will be a starting point on border security that will be made public. I believe one of the House members from California is working on that - we'll see!!

It seems like the Conference Committee has finally put out their report and legislation has been introduced. Another last minute fiasco with very little time to pass and no back-up should it fail. Either vote to pass it or vote for another shutdown for the weekend!!

Another shutdown about a wall will be quite an unnecessary embarassment. I am reading many wont even get back pay from the last. Inexcusable. The wall is not THAT Urgent, regardless of all the fear tactics flying about.

Congress needs to do their jobs and sign whatever it is they can agree to FOR NOW, no POTUS required if they can just do that much.

As I understand, government workers already have their back pay. it is the government contractors who won't get that pay.

Yes, POTUS signature is probably going to be required! I do not see Congress passing the legislation with enough votes to override a POTUS veto.

The first round of the fight between Trump and Pelosi with many more to come! All this will fund the government until October when new budget bills must again be passed. The Trump administration will be looking for any place they can find funds for immigration reforms and border fencing/wall. The courts will be busy!!!!

unfortunately, with party line politics as they are and republicans having majority in the senate, it probably will be dictated by the republican POTUS.
