So IF I accept your "facts" that there are less people crossing the southern border and the trend is expected to continue to decrease, THEN:

we need less humanitarian aid for these people
we need less health care facilities for these people
we need less immigration judges to hear asylum claims
we need less deportation judges
we need less temporary housing facilities


We can significantly reduce the costs for border detention and put that money elsewhere! Our biggest goal at the border should be to increase the efficiency of commercial border transit.

First, because the numbers had been decreasing without any of those actions taking place, so why would one assume they are needed to continue the decrease?

and Second, because our facilities and aid and judges and housing facilities are not explicitly to address immigrants but the population of natives who need such services. and as our population of natives grows, there is no reason to believe we need less of any of those positions or services.
