Not one of these polls right now mean dirt. Not because I want to see Trump re-elected. It's because the history of the polls this early have been right. AP stopped taking polls just because they were wrong 90% of the time. Over a year out doesn't mean a thing.

Liberals like Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., frequently hold up Scandinavian countries as successful experiments in “democratic socialism.” A historian and native Swede, however, is speaking out against their failure to observe the clear capitalistic traits of Scandinavian markets.

“Whatever you think about Sweden and what we did, you have to realize that we had a great society first,” Johan Norberg, a Swedish historian, filmmaker, and Cato Institute senior fellow, said in a recent lecture titled “No, Bernie! Scandinavia Is Not Socialist!”

Here is What a Socialist U.S. Economy Would Look Like

"If the United States were to adopt the socialist policies of Venezuela, the move would slash the economy by 40 percent—or $24,000 per year for the average American, according to a report by the president’s Council of Economic Advisers.

“Coincident with the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx’s birth, socialism is making a comeback in American political discourse,” says the council’s report, “The Opportunity Costs of Socialism.”

“Detailed policy proposals from self-declared socialists are gaining support in Congress and among much of the electorate,” the report continues".

"WASHINGTON — As Beto O’Rourke goes into the second Democratic debates in Detroit, he will be trying to achieve a delicate balance, coming across forcefully without seeming overly aggressive, according to campaign aides. Mayor petie is getting ready to lose about 20 officers from the SBPD, for the way he botched up the handling of that last police related shooting. The officers feel like they're on their own, having no support from the mayor's office. With good reason. The dumba** participated in a protest some months ago, coming out with the protestors. A petition is orbiting South Bend, to kick his butt out of office. All he's doing is running around in his campaign funded private plane, and acting like he's somebody. Makes me want to throw eggs at his house- and I do know exactly where he lives

But will it be enough to hurt his presidential chances? Possibly. We already have that problem, (racism) in the high office now. That's something we don't need any more of once Trump is gone. Maybe he should have tried harder to fix this before running for president. I'm not saying this guy is a racist. I don't know whether he is or isn't. But one thing for sure. At this point, he doesn't know how to handle it with his own police dept. If he can't figure it out with his own police dept, how is he going to handle it once he becomes president?

Why South Bend’s Police Department Has Become a Campaign Issue for Mayor Pete

"Mayor Pete Buttigieg appeared to be overwhelmed as he stood on stage with his chief of police at a South Bend, Indiana, town hall in June. Buttigieg had abruptly left the campaign trail after Sergeant Ryan O’Neill, a white cop, shot and killed Eric Logan, a 54-year-old black man. O’Neill had been responding to a call about a suspicious person breaking into cars when he came across Logan inside a vehicle. According to O’Neill, when the officer confronted Logan, he approached him with a knife; so he fired his gun twice, killing Logan. The officer’s body camera was turned off and the shooting sparked local outrage. Buttigieg’s constituents were loudly voicing their frustrations with the city, the mayor, and his police department. “Reorganize your [police] department by Friday of next week,” someone in the audience demanded. “Get the people that are racists off the streets".

Better than any of that far-right, made up as you go lies that many of you post. And makes more sense. Also, not just vague statements with absolutely nothing to back it up. This is a "thing" that many Trump supporters seem to have in common. They either just outright lie. Or a mixture of Truth and lie. Or just really vague. So vague at times that most have no idea what they're talking about. It leaves the reader thinking you're just talking. You don't care if you make sense or not.

It seems to matter very little to a Trump supporter how goofy or silly they sound. The worst trait I've seen so far in Trumps supporters, besides there ability to lie and make up stories at the drop of a hat, is their racism. Many Trump supporters are full of hate and racism. And they don't care who sees it.

I'm not trying to insult you. I'm just telling you the truth. To educated people, Trump supporters come off as uneducated red necks that are gullible to Trump and blind to his lies. They are people who get on social media and tell lies. If they can't tell a lie, they will make up one and spread it.

Again, no insult to you intended. I'm just telling the truth. You can either accept it or you don't. It matters very little to me.

Pete Buttigieg Rips “Racist” Trump: “We Ought To Call That What It Is”

"Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg expressed his disapproval of President Donald Trump, by referring to the president as a “racist” during a speech Friday at the National Urban League Conference.

“My generation saw this country elect its first black president and then turn around and elect a racist to the White House — and we ought to call that what it is,” Buttigieg told members of the civil rights organization at their annual convention in Indianapolis".

http://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/pete-buttigieg-rips-racist-trump-002546035.html

Pete Buttigieg’s ideas are starting to intrigue black voters. Their support is another matter.

"INDIANAPOLIS — As the path forward in the 2020 presidential campaign starts to narrow, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg has been trying to find support in the one segment of the Democratic base he can't seem to reach: people of color.

He's likely struggling for a variety of reasons. He's young and lacks national experience. Acceptance of marriage equality and LGBTQ rights among African Americans and Latinos is growing but isn’t as high as among other groups. That could be a challenge for the openly gay Democrat. And there have been a lot of questions about his handling of the South Bend police shooting last month in which a white officer killed a black man he said was wielding a knife".

I do take offense at these statements. It is similar to me saying all Obama supporters were racist toward whites or socialists. I'm sure some were but many were not. If you are ever willing to engage in discussion of your racist assumptions or socialist beliefs, I'm more than willing to engage in those discussions on a new thread.

That so-called racism you say that is in most Trump supporters, came out when odumma was POTUS.

I didn't like his politics and said so. Some dems I argued with, told me I was when they started losing arguments. One call me a misogynist. How can you call someone that, when he worked alongside his wife for 23 years? Doing construction, no less? Those who point and claim, do not know those people personally.

Trump supporters, are fed up with how politics operated before Trump came along. Those racist cracks, are going to come back on you sometime. One just might take you to task. I wouldn't participate, but I'd sit back and enjoy the show. And think it was a good thing.

No sir. I have no intention of discussing with anyone. I've already proven my point by the countless links I've posted. By Trumps own words that he has spoken in public many times, has proven what I say as right.I'm not going to mention any names. Because that person is now gone from the forums.

The utter crap that he would post. I know at times he got on your nerves. Far-right, made up lies that were easy to blow holes in. He kept on with his lies and attempts at hijacking the thread until he got himself tossed off here. It's people like that, that I'm talking about.

And sir, you have no earthly idea what my political beliefs are. I've never said. Instead of going by what you know, you're going by what you think you know. What I post is the truth of the day. Not some made up, far-right bullshyt. Not some made up Alex Jones type bullshyt. It's the actual news of the day.

Not some tall tail that was made up and spread around social media by some far-right extremist. But the actual news of the day. So, I care very little about discussing what is already known as a fact.

In all honesty, I'm sorry if you take exception to what I said. But it doesn't make it any the less the truth for many. I never said all. I've told you in another post. If others posted like you and Ms. H when she is around, the political thread would be a better place for everyone. I'm not saying that I agree with everything you or she posts. All I'm saying is, Most everything you have posted so far, agree or not, at least it makes sense and can be followed to other things that make sense. But "everyone" is not you or Ms. H.

This is the last I will say about this. Back on topic.

Maybe this will help answer your question.

The 25 Democrats running for president, debate lineups, and everything else you should know about 2020

"A few Republican officials — former Ohio Gov. John Kasich and popular Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan — have hinted they might challenge the president in a primary. But any primary challenger would be a huge underdog against the sitting president. Republican leaders have said they want to protect Trump by potentially having state parties change the rules for their primaries to guard against an insurgency.

The only GOPer willing to make the leap so far is former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld, a libertarian-leaning Republican who has officially entered the race.

Sanders: 'I wrote the damn bill' on Medicare for All

"Defending his signature health care proposal at the Democratic primary debate Tuesday Sen. Bernie Sanders shut down attacks on Medicare for All as ill-informed: He is the final authority on it, because, he declared ringingly, “I wrote the damn bill.”

In the historically union-friendly city of Detroit, CNN anchor and debate moderator Jake Tapper asked Sanders if he could guarantee that benefits under his Medicare for All plan would be as good as the benefits union members fought to negotiate.

“They will be better because Medicare for All is comprehensive,” Sanders said. “It covers all health care needs. For senior citizens, it will finally include dental care, hearing aids and eyeglasses".

Elizabeth Warren slams John Delaney in Democratic debate: Why run just to talk about what we can't do

"Sen. Elizabeth Warren shut down former Rep. John Delaney for focusing on "what we really can’t do and shouldn’t fight for," during Tuesday night’s Democratic Presidential debate.

The ongoing debate between Delaney and Warren underscored a major them of the debate: Whether the party should pursue big ideas that appeal to progressives, or more incremental changes that appeal to moderates.
