I hope they don't strike this off, on the pity seeking principle, because I'll admit straight of the bat, I am feeling quite sorry for myself, and a little pity, would not go amiss , although usually it's something I would detest

But I have recently contracted the most heinous and wicked ailment ever devised, in the grand scheme of things. The most awful and dreadful thing, known as

Man flu

Its gone to my chest, probably because of my filthy nicotine habit.
I shall most likely, suffer, wail and groan for 2 weeks, before being forced to go and see those horrid doctors I hate so much, in the hope they will give me some anti biotics

Unfortunately I have nobody to serve me pies in a French maids outfit ( the only known source, of temporary relief ) thus the suffering, will be particularly horrid

I did thankfully buy and eat a steak slice, so at least that's something

That ^^^^
Stop feeling sorry for yourself and grow up. You get a cold, your body will heal.
Antibiotics???? For a cold?
Antibiotics work on bacteria, a cold is caused by a virus so antibiotics don't work. Nor is medication necessary, your body will heal itself. Just get juices, greens and so on.

*Hugs* R2... I had the full blown flu this past winter, not fun! And very disappointing.... No one offered to come dressed as Tarzan in a loin cloth to take care of me grumble laugh

Take some garlic and echinacea... I usually take one capsule three times a day for 10 days. The garlic works as a natural antibiotic and kills both viral and bacterial viruses. Echinacea will help boost your immune system and help with the upper respiratory congestion. Zinc and Vitamin C also help to boost your immune system and may help with recovery time.

Over the counter meds... Vicks vapor rub, use it in a vaporizer. Make sure any flu medicine you take has an expectorant in it to help break up the crud in your chest.

Oh... I found someone to help out with the house work while you're sick, maybe even make some pie...

bigsmile Feel better soon! flowers

swap the ibuprofen for paracetamol, take some kind of decongestant to dry up the mucus.
then put 12 ounces of mustard powder, and 1 ounce of chili in the bath, run it as hot as you can, and then soak for about 20 minutes whilst chewing xxxxxstrong mints.
Works for me.

Yes I just seen him on the news. He was arrested at Chester zoo having a mustard bath with an elephant laugh

Seriously, I had proper flu a couple of years ago in the January even though I was vaccinated in the previous October.
Like someone said. Plenty of fluids ,paracetamol and just sweat it out. Probably the worst will be over in 3-4 days. Orange juice helped to. Get well soon

There ya go, Mickey. The flu jab. I got it once, got the flu. Now I am refusing it since 2005, and never got the flu again. I am odd.
