Zero-point energy (ZPE) is the lowest possible energy that a quantum mechanical system may have.
Physics currently lacks a full theoretical model for understanding zero-point energy; in particular, the discrepancy between theorized and observed vacuum energy is a source of major contention.
Vacuum zero-point energy is theory only and holds no actual comparison value to your idea.
The way I see it all energy is free. It exists everywhere in all things.
The challenge is how to capture it for practical use.
Personally, I believe free energy could be available in the quantum realm.
Imagine a cell phone that requires no battery because the atomic action of particle force in the devices construction powers the device. In other words, the atoms that make up the phone produce the energy needed to run it.
If that technology is ever unlocked, batteries, cords, wires, power plants
will all become obsolete. Devices will always have power. As long as the matter which makes them still exists.
It will need a two-fold innovation.
First the ability to tap into the atomic force energies in particles.
Then a reduction in the energy requirements to run devices.
Mankind is already exploring both sides of that.
Its just a matter of time.
