Anyone who's successfully using and Ad blocker on his Android phone that works on ads in Apps?
I got one for the browser but that's not what I need.
For instance, my stepcounter App keeps opening an ad whenever I want to start of pause it. Often I even have to wait 5 secs before I can kill the annoying thing.
I never had this problem on my old phone.

So again, I have an AdBlock for browser, but that's not what I need.
And I rather know of a good one than willy-nilly installing something I know nothing of.

Anyone?

Not sure if this is what you're asking for but I use the AdBlockPlus on my computer and it blocks all the pop-up ads...

This one says it is for the Androids phones...

https://adblockplus.org/android-install

And it is free.

The one I use for my computer is great I don't see any Ads on this site with it.. And it is the one our IT guy at work put on all of our computers at work..

Thanks! I've installed that one. I'll see tomorrow if it works on the in-app ads or maybe I can tweak some settings :)

Hopefully it helps I'm always on a computer when I'm on this site and the AdBlockerPlus is a lifesaver for it takes away all the ads..

If not sure someone else could help most likely Tom4Uhere he is the one that seems to know a lot about IT..

I use (On Computer)

uBlock-original https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search

Ghostery https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghostery/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search

Privacy Badger https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/privacy-badger17/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search

AdBlock Plus https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search

Vary rare I get a Popup or Ad. If I do, I can open any of them and Pick the Ad/Popup and add it to the list to be blocked.

Some sites will not work with them turned ON... Or they Complain about them being ON.. Like Pandora can (kinda) Detect if you are using them. Tells you to turn them Off. I turn off AdBlock Plus but leave the others on, Refresh the Page and they stop complaining about Ad Blockers being on.. NO Commercials every 3-4 songs! iHeart no longer Works with any Ad Blocker turned on. No Commercials/Ads on YouTube!

I don't do anything on my PC without an AdBlock either. But that's for websites. What I'm looking for now is to kill ads in an App.
I had an Adblock installed, did nothing for that.
Most Adblockers are for websites, which is not what I'm trying to sort.
But we'll see. I haven't tested this AdBlockerPlus yet.

the only way to rid yourself of those adds is buy premium rather than free version

Ah, that makes sense! Thank you. The AdBlock indeed didn't work on it. Stupid thing is I never had these ads on my old phone and I used the exact same app on that (Easy Feet step counter) so it came as an unpleasant surprise.

pi hole is a thing and gets rid of the ads you are talking about. it's really easy to setup, even API zero is good enough to run it.
