NOT TO DISCUSS THE PROS & CONS OF COVID AS THERE"S A TOPIC FOR THAT!

Just interested to see how many of us are totally used to all the rules and regulations and restrictions?
We still have curfew, facemasks, only 1 person visiting, a trolley per person in supermarkets, non-essential shops closed until at least April 21st.

I sometimes now see people outdoors with a facemask on so they're totally used to it.

Personally I have to make a conscious effort to remember. Of late I find myself walking into the supermarket without facemask and without a trolley.

Just now I walked into hospital without facemask laugh I was on the way over, wearing a thinner jacket, hence no facemask. No time to go back to get one, just fingers crossed I could get one in hospital. Seemed logical to me.
But that did mean walking in without one. I don't give a chit really, lol, but the woman behind reception made a disapproving comment. Which I don't care about either, but I did have to see the ENT so I needed a mask.

All in all I'm not used to it at all, not even after all this time.
I count myself lucky for that!

I would've loved to go shopping after ENT, was in the town centre anyway. But hΓ©las, not possible ohwell I don't often want to go shopping, now really did and couldn't.

How bout you? Has it all become normal to you?

I never went out to mix with people anyway, so no problems there.

But then there was me, going to get the vaccine and not wearing the mask. Embarrassing that was oops

I don't understand the reluctance to wear a mask. Combined with social distancing, it offers me some protection from you, at the very least. And vice versa. Don't be a douche. Please wear a mask in public.

Truthfully, I've ignored the rules.

The question was, how used have you become to the rules & restrictions, not what you think of how another feels or behaves.

I take it you have become used to it. If not so, feel free to elaborate.

THIS.
It baffles me how people get offended by me (or anyone else) wearing a mask..
Aaaand..how does *my* wearing a mask in any way affect YOU?
While I'd prefer you did (to protect me and anyone else you probably asymptomatic self come in contact with)..if you don't, that's on you..
I do have the right to *avoid* you.....

I have noticed less people wearing masks...but, until the number of vaccinated people gey yo a higher percentage..i will continue to wear mine...

As far as "normal".....it is no more or less "normal" than any other situation I have had to deal with over the years...I just adapt/ deal with it...

So you enter shops, go to work, without a mask on?
Just curious :)

I wore a gas mask early on, to mock the whole mask
hysteria thing. Then a Halloween mask. laugh
But, yes, I've gone maskless, pretty much this whole time.

Social distancing? If I don't like a person,
or, if they don't like me... They should stay away.

I've gotten quite used to it, I feel naked without it. laugh
I've found quite a few darling masks and I even color coordinate to match my headbands! Which reminds me, I really need to get some summery ones biggrin

Just kidding about the feeling naked part, but I've been wearing masks at work and in public for so long, that I really have gotten used to it. It does come off as soon as I'm outside and away from people. Wearing one will be required at my new work place as well, National Parks are Federal, so I suppose it's a good thing that I'm used to it, makes life less stressful.

I know someone who posted photos wearing steampunk and BDSM-like masks. I think he wore them outdoors too, just to mock it as well.
The kind of person who really doesn't give a chit.

Personally I agree with you, but I do not like to get a fine of a few hundred Euros. But used to it, never!

I can understand when you have to wear one at work all the time you get used to it.
Apparently here if you work longer than 8 hours you don't have to wear it. But then, most ppl only work max 8 hours so few will benefit from that.

My hairdresser said she sometimes also forgets to take it off as she got so used to wearing it for work. She has her own salon behind her home, but as contact-profession still has to wear it.
When my daughter went shortly after me, she was allowed to take hers off. I wished I'd asked as well. The fine small hairs got caught inside of the mask, itching like hell and she wasn't done yet.

Now I'm thinking... who uses a new clean face mask each time you have to wear one?

I use mine for lord knows how long. It's always short anyways, the supermarket. The only reason I change them every now and then is to not keep breathing through a thing that might hold bacteria etc.

Many wear fabric ones but I doubt they really wash that, at 60C as well, after each use.

Do you?

Are you used to the Covid rules & restriction?

Aside from masking and 6 feet separation there has been nothing different for me. I've been socially isolated since I was disabled.

As for the separation distance, I've always given people a wide berth. I don't like crowding or crowds. I watched parades from a distance, steered clear of crowds at festivals and shopping malls.

Had there been a pandemic when I was young, healthy and working, I would have had a much harder time with it than I do at this point of my life. As it is, I barely notice a change (the mask wearing is the most significant).
Even wearing the mask is becoming a non-issue for me.

Meh, people think its bad now. Wait till there's 10 or 12 billion people on the planet at the same time. It really could be much worse than it is. What if 1/2 of all infected died from it. There would be insanity everywhere. Right now, its merely an inconvenience for some people.

What's sad is the fact some peoples entire lives have crumbled over this. Some people have been hit exceptionally hard. Stress levels are high and families have been affected. Abuse, depression, anger, sadness, bankruptcy and on and on and on.

Hihi, sorry for laughing but that's funny! And I guess it has not become your new normal either :)

At least, it only happened once

Just hope, the real normal comes back soon, wearing glasses and face masks is not a good combination

Oh yes, that's annoying for sure! I sometimes wore my glasses but not anymore when I have to enter a shop. I'd like to see something. And stupid thing is, even after 10-15 mins indoors it steams up.
I only wear glasses now when driving, which is pretty much what I did most of the time as that's why I got them a few yrs back.
But I feel for you. Most annoying!

I don't see many people either as I don't work due to my neck injury. In that sense the being alone more hasn't made much of a difference to me either.
I actually think the very fact it doesn't impact my life much is the reason that I don't get used to it either.

i hate the covid...hurricane katrina wiped out 2/3 of new orleans and now the covid is trying to put the coup de grace on it...boo hiss....oh this is about rules and restrictons...i live in a town where a woman will openly ask you if you know of a way she can make 40 dollars fast?

drinking an open container is legal here....i get hit on equally by men and women in the french quarter...most wear masks in the shops as most shops have security here many with guns...
wearing a mask while i shop is no big deal i usually put it on my chin till i get up to the counter and because of my age no one questions me..

most businesses here are probably out of business...i'm sure the owners are not happy...my apartment complex has closed the commons room where you could meet your neigbors...also stopped once a week rides to walmart...

seems like most of my neighbors have moved out because of the above...

i think that is enough 411...you compliant people keep on smiling and washing your hands and getting the covid and being good little automatons...
p.s. don't question authority they don't like it...

You are lucky there. I have to wear glasses all the time. And I bumped into people, shopping trolleys, etc because of steamed glasses. Not only once. At least, I made some people laugh and didn't get injured.
