Explain something to me and that is how can an iTunes gift card I just bought already has been used by someone? How can it be a factory error when I just bought it?

No, scam is not what’s happening. For the past few years I’ve been in touch with a guy who, through his work, works in the Middle East for a private security company contracted by our government. I’ve been buying him iTunes cards when he needs them. He lets me know if they work but sometimes ones I buy him have been used already for some reason even though I just bought them so I feel ripped off from Apple. He says guys from work have experienced the same problem and have been told it’s a factory error. Could it be possible that duplicates are made by Apple and the same card is bought and loaded before mine?

I really have no idea Julie, and to me, it sounds highly unlikely but in the first instance I would contact Apple.

Could it even be possible that your friend is lying? Apple would know for definite if what he says is true as they would receive so many complaints about it.

Are you recompensed by your friend for the iTunes cards you’ve bought for him?

All I can say is I hope this is a friend you have met in person and know well..

The reason I say this is I know someone that works over in the middle east for the government and well he makes more in a couple months then I do in a year.. When contracted over there they get paid very well unless they are in the Military~~

All gift cards are a scam and a fraud. I spent months investigating this issue and was told by Amazon on a conference call with Google that a Chinese gang has designed a portable xray scanner that's used in stores to scan through some of the security strips. Thus when an unsuspecting person buys a card that's been scanned this way, the card is redeemed immediately by the gang as soon as it's activated in store. The card has obviously no value when the buyer tries to redeem it. The gift card companies are complicit in this fraud because they all know what's going on and still sell their junk. The card companies should be prosecuted. So anybody who buys cards is wasting their money on compromised cards. The Secret Service is aware of this, but to date has done nothing about it. Stop buying them! There's lots of anecdotal information about this online.

If gift cards are a scam then they wouldn’t be in any store. No I trust him to let me know if they work and for the most part they do. I’d call Apple but feel it’s too much of a hassle to do so and wish I could contact via e-mail or live call.
