I can't speak for the others but I most certainly read every profile.

I don't know about other men. But, I've always read profiles before I write. It seems a no-brainer to me. But in all truthfulness, There have been lots of profiles that turned me off because of what they have written in their profile. And I have also been turned off by the lack of info in the profile. I see more than a few on this site, "I'll tell you later." And on another site, "I don't like talking about myself."

Here is the way I see it. I may be wrong. If I am I apologize in advance. If you can't muster up enough words to make at least a paragraph about yourself, and you get contacted anyway, more than likely he is looking for a piece. Then it doesn't matter whether you have written anything or not. To a lot of men, if you can't write a little about yourself, you are taking the personal part out of the whole process. If you can't write anything about yourself, you become nothing but a pretty picture. Sort of inanimate. Just a potential piece of a.s.s on the net. But now, this doesn't hold true with everyone.

If you can get it inside it counts.

If the picture talks to me per se...I will read the profile and respond, only if they are in reachable distance...Just saying....

Women are just as bad as men at not reading profiles, I've just joined this site but on others I've gotten emails from women who in no way meet the criteria I've stated and who I wouldn't dream of dating in a million years. Some women I guess are just really desperate.

Desperate .. don't think so .. you've just joined so those are most likely the scammers, who pray on you .. scammers do not read profiles, however sometimes they do so watch out with these girls

Edit: Ask them to look at your profile, then they usually disappear ..lol

I guess I am green at this, having started just a couple days ago and wondering around blue eyed and trusting to anything I come across, but the more I read your postings here, I become aware of all sorts of issues. I for my part, try to approach it with the utmost courtesy and integrity to assure I get the same from others! I actually do read the bios for info about a possible match and sure hope to come across some nice honest people approaching this the same way I do. Good luck and have fun.

Just kidding, yes I read them. Many don't even have profiles. Be aware of them. It's usually easy to spot scammers, they aren't very intelligent. They never answer your questions in detail. You'll see. I like playing with them....I don't know if I am allowed to post funny scammer stuff on here or not. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

Guys never real the full profile!! On my other sites they have a profile pic of them smoking and my profile clearly states that I'm NOT 4/20 friendly and they are all like "I love what I read in your profile" or the same thing with the age gap. Lots of older guys messaging me when I again clearly state no one over 30!!

All I have seen are a bunch of pictures with chicken scratches near them.

I read the profiles to a point.I usually am not interested in those who are "out of bounds" for me. It doesn't take a proofread of the entire profile for me to figure out if there is common ground for building a relationship. If a profile has certain aspects that are important (like having too many pets,or a criteria for faith)Then I read no more..

I think the online dating is a shot in the dark.Sitting at a computer screen and typing out descriptions of yourself really cant paint an accurate picture of who you are,and what you are like.Real world contact is the only thing that is dependable.
